The 'Genius' Behind The Header

After some delibration, I decided that it was time that one of my *cough cough* masterpieces have a place here.

Voila! This is a header that I made for the m106 blog out of boredom when a spur of genius striked me. *continues coughing, smirks and goes into an anaphylactic fit*

Anyway, I had lots of help from my bf. (apparently he was quite good at it, never tell me ah.. shld have taught me long ago ma. lol.)

Definitely Nothing But... M106. We rockz! =)

You can see it in its full glory at our M106 blog! Pls check it out~! Must see! so click that link.

And do notice that I've left funny bits of parody in the picture ala Da Vinci Code style. hoho. Read this post's comments' section to get the answer.

Btw, if I must say so, I'm really happy that our batch blog is relatively flourishing, compared to other batch blogs. yayz. We do have more eager bloggers. And I'm so proud that this dream that me and roney had for this blog did not fade. Glad. It is a good way to keep in touch too. although there are its ugly moments too. (!!) But let's not dwell on that ya. Anyway, as usual...

Constructive comments/criticism are welcomed!

Alright, I confess. I do not possess such good skill in drawing and I'm a newbie when it comes to photoshopping. But I do try.

I did not draw this picture from scratch [I wish I was that talented!] but I did photoshopped it into its above state.

Below is the original picture I stole from DevianArt. (Erm I forgot who is the original artist, so if you see your art here, pls tell me so that I can credit you okay! Thks.)

The real House M.D. - Let's play spot the differences! hehe.

So this is actually a photoshop project. What do you think? It's not as easy as you think, especially if you're so noob like me. hehe. It took us more than 5 hours to get all the details done.

But I really really hontoni like it. Coz this one definitely has a more professional finished look.

So as usual, let the comments flow in! *jumps around like an energizer bunny* lol.

Showing Love

I've always wanted to say this but never got the chance. till now.

If I hvta choose one thing I dislike about the typical Asian/chinese norms, it'd be the fact that the showing of affection to family members seemed to be a taboo of sorts.

Now, don't argue with me first. Your family might be the touchy-feely type, then good for you. But ask around, I'm sure many of your chinese frenz would be able to tell you that they don't feel comfortable doing physical bonding with their parents.

Meaning that "hugs, kisses (on the face of coz, duh) and I love you's" are big no-nos. There you have it, glaring evidence that a lot of chinese families can't or just do not know how to start showing affection to each other physically.

I know that the parents definitely love their children, but somehow chinese/Asian parents seemed to prefer to show their love thru everyday stuff or not at all. Not that this is wrong or anything but sometimes teenagers who are lost (figurately) just need someone to tell them they are loved, directly face-to-face. That is why a lot of teens get cheated when they seek for love outside the family. Those people who tell them they love them but harbour nothing but bad intentions. This is how the poor impressionable teens get caught in this tangled web, in their quest to be loved.

Don't you wonder why lovers can throw "I love you's" all around but saying that to your parent or child is taboo? Weird, isn't it? And sometimes, it's strange why we're more polite to our frenz/strangers than our own family members. We take the latter for granted sometimes, don't you think? Until the time comes we see them less and less, then we'll start to appreciate them more. Pardon me for this cliche phrase but Absence does make the heart fonder.

June was one of the worst months in my life. It was nothing but study study study. And lots of s.t.r.e.s.s. Thank god for my parents who gave me emotional support. Of coz, dear dear, you helped a lot too! =) If not, I think by now you'd see me waving happily behind bars with a crooked smile in some psychiatric ward. hahaha.

I used to wish that my parents would give me substantial evidence of their love thru words or direct actions. But they never did. [yeah yeah, I was a confused teenager then]

Until I decided "hey why don't I don't start the ball rolling first?" and it took me A LOT of courage for me to give them hugs before I set out for the big city. Dad was a bit awkward while Mum was natural. lol. Now, I'm definitely going to give them hugs everytime I set out from home! hehe. I also make it a point to show them my appreciation in little ways nowadays. Like praising mum's cooking [and tell you what, there is nothing - absolutely nothing - that beats home cooking!] or giving Dad an easy time by making sure the siblings are quiet etc etc.

Erm... yeah, I still haven't said those 3 words to them yet. Still working on it. :P

Anyway, you get my point, don't you? So why don't you try these tips out yourself! It's going to take a lot of courage (hey I've been there!) but the rewards you get is definitely worth-it. Trust me.

So pluck that courage out of you and give your parents a hug or say those 3 words today!

PS: How come I feel my last sentence is like some sort of commercial's slogan or smtg? lol.

Free Online Dating

Mingle2 - Free Online Dating

I can't believe what my blog is rated as PG! lol.

Just becoz I used the word "hell" 3 times and the word "steal" once. So much for taking things literally. hehe.

Ah whatever. You know what you are reading and whether it's suitable for you onot. Programs can't be expected to see more than that. -_-

Btw, I did not sign up for online dating (if that's what on your mind). I took this off my fren's blog. lol~!

Here Comes Holidays!

Alright, it finally is the long-awaited-stress-free HolidayS!

And I'm supposed to while my days away rotting at home sweet home, doing nothing, right? Right?

Yeah, so that is what I've been doing the past two days. And sadly, somehow I'm getting a bit bored.

I don't own a car (besides my driving skills are nothing but a road hazard, bleh) so I can't go out on my own. Besides, most of my high school frenz have just went to the various public unis scattered all over the country so yeah, I don't really have many ppl to hang out with. *droops like a wilted flower*

Staying home all the time sure is b.o.r.i.n.g. But I'd definitely prefer feeling bored than going for the resit, thk you very much. Anyway, luckily for the internet or I think I'll go bonkers first. And heck, I sure don't feel like opening my medical books.

[Thumbs up to my batchmates who have started studying for endocrine! I don't think I've that sort of motivation. I guess that is what separate the "geng" students from dumb ppl like me. lol.]

Have been trying hard to get back my passion for reading storybooks, but its a long and slow process. Looks like I really need to get my fire for reading back, or get more interesting books! haha.

On a somehow related note, we finally have something to look forward to! We're going to Langkawi!! Me & a few of my uni frenz... Can't believe my parents say yes! It's all confirmed so now just hvta wait for the rest to iron out the plans. Yayz!! (So peeps, if you wanna clarify anything abt the trip, just sms me ya. You know the number. *winks*)

Yeah, this will be the first real trip with frenz (read: without parents!) yipee! The last trip, I was still technically in penang, not much difference, right? hehe now I'm so excited. The beaches there shld be quite nice! Can't wait to re-laaax on some beautiful beach with my frenz. Heavenly.

Btw, any of my frenz still in Penang, pls sms me so we can go hang out or smth okie? I'm so bored here. =)

Okla, dunno what to ramble on ade. Anyway, continue to fight on, those who still have one more hurdle! I want us to remain together as a batch okay. Since have nothing much to say ade, well I shld go read the books I just bought from Popular today then! tataz!

PS:
Notice the ads on my blogs? Pls click to check out what is it about okay. And so that I can earn some $$$ too!! Ka-ching! hehe.

Omg! A Miracle

Alright, time to update you guys abt how I did.

Since you're seeing me here the next day, I assume that you can guess that I did okay. And you're right!

Yesh, I passed!! ^v^

Omg!! I was so so happy yesterday when I tore open my result slip and saw this: "Congratulations! You have passed the End of Semester 3 Examination."

Can you believe this? I was SO delirious & relieved that I started crying/jumping in public!! Something that I tot I'd never do, but it was just that the emotions just overwhelmed me that I felt the need to express them straightaway.

I'm happy that all the mental torture is over. Finally. The stress & anxiety preparing for the exam and waiting for the results were getting to me. I really need to learn how to handle stress better. Which means more consistent studying! =)

I'm so glad that I didn't let my family especially my parents down. They were putting a lot of hopes in me. I'm just so glad. For once, I'm at a loss of words to express my happiness. Just know that I'm freaking damn happy [pls insert other adjectives for 'glad' yourself]!!

Now I know that miracles really do happen. To me, this is like a miracle. Coz not only I passed, I did relatively better than I cud ever imagined! And can you believe this, ALL my good frenz passed?!! It's almost too unbelievable to be true. My wish came true... I can't believe it! =D

Thank you, the powers above! I'll try to amass more good karma from now on! Yay~

And yeah, a lot of ppl passed too. So the rumour remained a rumour after all, phew. Congrats to those who passed and gambate to those who are going for the resit! We must continue to fight on as a batch! M106 rocks! Whoo-hoo!

Dreams do come true if you work for it. I'll go to bed feeling happy for a few days. ^v^ Time for a happy sleep! toodles!

PS: Can you believe that so coincidentally we're supposed to get our results on Friday the 13th? I didn't even notice the "bad" omen. Luckily there was no bad fate after all. phew.

The Moment Of Truth

Short post, going out in 5 mins for karaokeing session in Greenbox. This is our last enjoyment hang-out before results come out at 5pm today!! *gasp*

I've a bad sickening feeling abt my results, dunno why. It's been sitting in my tummy since a few days ago. But anyway, I will just continue to hope for the best (can't do anything else, can I?) and that this feeling doesn't come true.

Alright, just GOOD LUCK and ALL THE BEST to all the cool m106 peeps! *winks*

I just wanna pass, that's all. I won't be greedy and ask for more. yeah. Wish me luck, guys. ^v^

This is it, The Moment of T.r.u.t.h.

I'm scared.

The Anticipated Ranty Post

Well, time for a more complete update.

For starters, no I didn't get viva and I dunno if that's a blessing or curse. Results will be out this friday at 5pm and hell am I scared. But can't do much abt that. Guess just hvta use the remaining time wisely.

(hey why am I cursing myself by using the phrase "remaining time"!! I'm gonna have 2 months' holidays... not gonna get resit.. NOOO! erm yeah, I think I'm going cuckoo... oh shucks.)

Anyway, I've not updated or online in the past 48 hours becoz I was busy moving house. Have finally gotten most of my stuff into the new house - many thks to Eugene, Leong and of coz my dear dear! - but a bit lazy to unpack the rest of the stuff tho. I'll probably finish those up tmr. Yoyo procastinator in the house!

I may post pics up of my spanking new room (which is very very nice) after I've cleared up my stuff ya. Patience is a virtue, people. hoho.

-----------------------------------------------------------

I shall procastinate no more. This part will be rants abt the hellish exam that I went thru the week before. (can't believe it's already a week! omg) You can leave here if you want to. If you have the guts, proceed with full speed ahead. Go~!

SAQ: This paper is worth a total of 35 marks and is the do-or-die paper in the whole 4 days. If you score well in this, congrats, you're already on a good way to a pass. Sadly, moi that didn't finish studying what she shld, and totally screwed up this paper. Which is soooo not good. *shakes head*

Can you believe that I wrote down Brugia Malayensis instead of the correct Brugia Malayi for the cause of lymphatic filariasis? Crazy, right? I was a tad confused during the exam. And didn't have enough time to check back my answers. sigh.

And there were many many other mistakes. Some questions I totally dunno what to write in the blanks given, while some answers I was pretty sure they're hidden somewhere in the crevices of my mind, but it just refused to let me conjure them out. *shyt*

And get this. The questions that came out consisted of a big chunk of pharmaco and microbio. Both of which were my weakest subjects!! Arggh. I wished more patho came out. I think I'm relatively better in that.

I was pretty upset that day. Coz some ppl said it was relatively easy/okay. And deep down in my heart, I knew it wasn't so difficult but somehow I just screwed it up. Maybe it was becoz I didn't study hard enough. Not enough disciplince.

But I cudn't give up. Not so early in the battle. I had 3 more days to try to rectify my mistake as much as possible. Which leads us on to...

OSPE: Totals up to around 24.5 marks With my usual luck, I always started out in the worst station of all the other stations which I cud have started at. *sarcastic tone* That definitely gave me a lot of confidence. Lots of it. hah I wish.

It was the diagram with all the weird arrows asking for parameter E and something that looks like angiotensin-converting-enzyme stimulator. Which was smtg we never learnt before. Panicking, I put the only one I knew off which was remotely similar - its inhibitor. Which turned out to be the answer wanted. Wth with those arrows. Draw properly can?

And the rest was just a flurry of models, diagrams and pictures. I did quite well with those descriptive patho pics, you know lah, I just play play with words lo. haha. Managed okay with the microbio and parasites' pics becoz my dear dear had helped me the night before. Thks a lot! I'm really weak in the subject that deal with creepy-crawlies! eeew!

Some Qs weren't designed too well. They put too many components in that question with the pressure-volume loop. No time to think and answer leh. Not that I dunno it, but hey I think more than 10 separate small Qs (that each needs thinking) to answer in 5 mins is a bit too much.

But other than that, I did relatively okay compared to the day before. And weirdly, almost everyone say that paper was quite difficult. I'm a topsy turvy person heh. Alright, onto the last component.

OSCE: Generally still okay, altho kena screwed by a few lecturers for not knowing well enough or for being blur and saying the wrong things. blek. Spanned a total of 2 days and comes to 10.5 marks.

Tried my best to salvage as many marks possible. I did quite good in history taking, managed to answer most of the Qs. My performance varied for the physical examinations. It depends on the Q given. The best station for me was the liver palpation + liver span + shifting dullness station. Did it perfectly! It helped that the lecturer wasn't particularly menacing. phew.

Can't decide which station was the worst for me. It's either the JVP station (got FIA) or the abdomen station (HA) or the mouth/throat station which I dunno what to say or do. alamak. I specifically mentioned which lecturers I had for some coz they were the reason I didn't perform as well as I cud have. But hey, I heard that they're quite lenient during exams. *prays hard*

And last but not least, if you have been doing the maths, that would still leave a gap of 30 marks, which would come from our past 6 in-course-assessments (ICA) and really pulls you up if you didn't do well in eos3. My performance for that was sometimes good, sometimes bad, so it averages out in the end. But that wasn't from lack of trying. I really tried hard those times. Especially after my first failure during sem2. Sigh, those were bad times.

With that, I think I'm done with writing this stupid ranty post which I don't really have much heart in typing out anyway. Sorry if it's a bit boring. I'm just doing this to keep as a record lo.

Abt the post-exam celebrations, we will see how. Will not promise a post abt that coz lately I seem to have lot of better stuff to do than blog, haha. Having lots of fun and good food! :P

Alrighty, shall sign off now. Keep your fingers AND toes cross for my results this friday.

I'm really scared. But once again, I can do nothing but leave it to the powers above. May all my good frenz pass thru this hurdle safely. Please. See us through this. Let there be another miracle.

The First Miracle

Will be keeping this post short and sweet.

Anyway, rejoice as there is the unbelieveable good news! There is no resit for OSCE!

I myself can't believe it when I got the first sms. But apparently miracles do happen. =) So I guess the ppl involved won't feel so bad abt it now. And they probably will be able to survive the next year with the rest of us. I feel glad for all of us.

Thanks to the SRC for fighting for our rights. Thanks to the dean and his whole entourage for making this decision. It really is for the students' benefit. Thank you.

However, if there really are any cheaters that got away, well you know what you did. Karma is gonna come back and kick your butt sometime in the future! *evil_laugh@mp3_not_found*

Yeah, can't believe I'm procastinating my usual post-exam-ranty-post (especially since I didn't do too well either). But whatever.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

*Taking a short commercial break*

Have been watching movies like there is no tmr.

Movies on the big screen - Transformers, Die Hard 4.0

Movies on dvd - The Myth, Fearless

All are not bad. Especially those in cinemas. Transformers totally rock socks!! Go watch it now. Don't think becoz you're a girl and not a fan, then it won't be nice. I had intial doubts abt it at first. But it's good! ^v^

*alright, we're back on air*

------------------------------------------------------------------

Maybe I'll do my post after viva list is out tomorrow! *gasps* There are mixed feelings abt that. I dunno to hope if my name is in that list onot.

I just want a clear pass, puh-lease? *looks towards to the heavens above*

I'll just continue to hope for the best. Today's decision showed me that miracles do happen. Let's hope there are more.

After The Fire Has Cooled

My blog's hits are totally sky-rocketting due to the controversial post prior to this. Interesting. I wonder if those ppl reading are my batchmates or outsiders? (a few ppl comment only wan... *little sigh*)

Anyway, we'll know for sure tomorrow if we need to resit. I've a bad feeling abt this. A gut feeling that they will make us resit. For me, it doesn't affect me as much as some ppl who already flew back home to some faraway place.

But after much hoo-ha, slowly we're getting used to the idea. Since nothing can be done, we would just have to do our best and hope the lecturers won't take it out on us. I'm sure they are mature enough to know what to do. =)

However, I feel sorry for those involved in the "handphone incident". Coz although they're too careless for their own good and deserved to be scolded, however, at least some of them have the decency to show that they are genuinely sorry. *good for you!* I'm feel sorry for them coz (if we hvta resit), they're sure gonna have a hard time in the year to come with our batch.

Unlike the sem5s, they can just fly off after the resit, our batch will hvta put up with each other for one more year - that is, if we all pass. I really hope all of our batchmates pass together. I don't want anyone to be left behind. Me, especially. -_-

Well, I'm totally enjoying myself although technically exam is pseudo-over. Heck, who cares. I think OSCE, as a clinical skills exam, depends on how you perform then and there... and not mugging abt stuff beforehand.

I think that's all for now. Remember to check your emails ya, peeps! May we pray and hope for the best. ^v^

----------------------------------------------------------

Alright, fess' it up. Only the blind would have turn a blind eye (excuse the pun) to the fact that I've spruce up my blog's header, giving it a total new look!

So what do you guys think?? Comments/criticism are welcome! =)

It took me very long to figure out how to move an image from one picture to another [sorry lah, I noob lah, still learning how to use photoshop], also making sure that the empty parts were cut away, letting the picture below show thru.

I absolutely lurve the "M.D. icon" that I managed to cut/paste into this "butterfly in the moonlight" image. I managed to change the icon's colour, wanting to make it stand out more but funnily it somehow will always just camouflage itself into its present state and into the buttefly pic. Go figure.

Anyway, overall I'm satisfied with the end result. So I need comments! *winks*

The Exam That Is Pseudo-Over

Due to the uncalled-for irresponsibility of a certain select few, what that had happened to the sem5s last week may very well be replayed in such a short period - onto us.

Yes, you got that right, people. We, the (in)famous M106 may have to resit the second day of our OSCE. =( Becoz a select few of people had brought in their phones into quarantine yesterday and had not handed it up until just before the exam is gonna start.

And tell you what, I absolutely do not look forward to resitting that paper, coz I absolutely DETEST the palpitations and extreme nervousness that will seize me just before the exams start.

No, I have tried calming myself down with deep breaths but it doesn't work. No, I didn't do very hot either that day (so-so only lah) but hell do I feel like resitting? NO!

This has brought a lot of inconvenience to the rest of us. Many of our plans are messed up just becoz you couldn't be bothered enough to take extra precautions. I think the ones worst affected are those that had already bought plane tickets to go home or somewhere else. All this is wasted time, effort and of coz money. My plans to move house are also kinda affected but I can still afford to be flexible. But I wanna go back and see my family sooner! I miss them! I haven't seen them in months, do you know? That's what I sacrificed for my exams.

I don't like to point fingers at anyone but sometimes you can't help but wonder that after the countless reminders being banged into our heads plus the example set by the sem5s recently, couldn't you be a bit more cautious? A few hours without your phone isn't gonna kill you. That's what the rest of us did, left our phones at home or in the car - just in case we forgot to give it up to the lecturers.

Being late and not hearing the lecturer's reminders is not a valid excuse. This is an important exam, you shouldn't be so late in the first place. There's a reason that they set the time so that they can let the earlier group out of quarantine. [pity them ah, quarantine so long]

Being "blur" is not exactly the best excuse either imo. We're gonna be future doctors, people's lives are gonna depend on us. Don't tell me in the future you're gonna tell your patient's family this.

"We could not save your father coz I'm so blur ah that I've accidentally given him the wrong medication and made him go into cardiac arrest. Sorry ya, blur." *insert goofy smile*

I know this is cliche but here goes:

With great power, come great responsibility.

We as doctors, are in a way, almost playing God. We have the ability to bring life to some of those who others thought were lost. This not something trivial that can be smoothed away by just a twirl of the hands.

Have you thought of that when you choose this profession? I'm sure many of us had. I feel sad for those that didn't.

Anyway, enough of ranting. And I thought that we're supposed to feel exhilarated now that the exam is pseudo-over. But I don't. (for obvious reasons)

I really just hope that we don't need to resit. Please! Take pity on us. The majority of us did nothing wrong. Please don't punish us for something we didn't do.

And I sincerely hope that if we really do resit, it's not gonna make any difference between whether I pass or fail. *major yikes!!*

Yesh, I didn't do so hot either for the other papers. I'm needing this OSCE to push me up. But more on that in another ranty post I assume.

Alright, signing off now. Still gonna enjoy myself although technically the exam is pseudo-over. Ciaoz.

PS: If you are offended by what you'd just read, pls don't be so defensive first and take time to think abt what I had wrote. Ask your heart honestly whether what I said is true. I'm sure (and hope) that you will see the light.

This Is IT

The big one. Time to get it done and over with. Will definitely try my best.

All the best to all my batchmates who will be going thru this ordeal together. May we be blessed with flying colours in the exams. Good luck to all my dear frenz too. We'll survive thru this somehow.

PS: Oh ya, Happy 6 months' Anniversary, dear dear. =) Why must our half year anniversary be a day before the big exam? *pouts*

--------------------------------------------------

The above was pre-written in a flurry of good spirits yesterday.

Now? However optimistic I want to be, deep down inside, there is still this fear overwhelming me. The very real fear that I would not be able to remember what I had studied the past few weeks.

Emotions have been unstable. This is not the first time I'm so unprepared for an exam... but this is definitely the first time I'm so so nervous.

A lot of things are at stake. I'm scared. But I guess so is everyone.

I can do nothing but leave it all up to the powers above.

Not A Meanie - But A Lazie

I've been given a chance to be mean and steel-hearted to those who had treated me that way in the first place.

But I guess I'm just too good-hearted after all. *cough smug look cough*

It's not that I can't be mean - I can, when the time is right - but I guess I still believe that even if ppl are mean to you, doesn't mean that you hvta return the evil favour. If you do, then what difference are you from them anyway? Right?

Besides, looks like Karma has its own ideas. I always believe that Karma will come and bite those that rightfully deserve it back in the butt in the end. hah.

My theory has thus been proved - at least once.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Regarding studies, let's just say I'm running out of time. Have been slacking too much the first few weeks. Still have lots of cover.. Aikz. And when I really wanna work hard, my body has to break down on me. Have not been feeling well the past few days. Hopefully I can last till next week.

Alright, better resume my hiatus. My mountain of notes are waiting for me!! o.O

Wish me luck. Coz I'm gonna need it!! Ciaoz.

PS:
The sem 5s were supposed to finish their exams by today. However, they'd have to resit their first day OSCE tmr morning. For more info, pls read this. For a more personal viewpoint, you can read this and this, by one of my seniors who hvta go thru this tragic chain of events. I hope my batch's exams go smoothly. I cudn't bear to resit any paper! I'd go nuts...!

Hiatus (Tentatively - You Know Why)

It's been quite a few days since I last appeared in the blogosphere. But mind you, it wasn't out of self-control - though I wish very much it was.

My internet service decided that it had enough with our 24/7 demands and went on a self-imposed leave for the last few days. *huge sigh* It was frustrating not being able to check my blog and rss feeds. %^&*&#@!!! Talk abt blogging + blog-hopping being an addiction. heh.

Anyway, addiction onot, it's time for me to impose a blogging hiatus for myself for the next 2 weeks. Till I finish my BIG important exams. -_-

I'm still gonna be reading blogs and stuff, but strike blogging (and impulsive anime-watching!) out of the list. I hope it works, you know that self-discipline is my worst to-do-list chore.

yesh yesh I know, I shld have planned my work out... but heck, I've been slacking the past few weeks!! So gonna pay the price now. Will hvta SLOG my brains out!!

There are just not enuf brain cells!! Why won't my neurons proliferate more? Oops, that's cancer, sorry. I hate the dark circles under my eyes. =(

Anyway, there still might be the occasional rant and all, but it will be short and sweet. Which shld be how I'm keeping this post now. yeah.

So toodles and wish me luck~! =) There is a lot at stake. I must try my best!!

Thank You, Daddy

Hehe, I can't believe that I was so blur that I wished my dad Happy Father's Day so many days in advance! It's the radio's fault for making me believe that it was last sunday. Finally cleared that with my Daddy - anyway, it's the thought that counts, right? :)

I've always been closer to my Daddy. I think it's becoz that I'm more like him while growing up.

I was the one who lurve reading, the one who lurve meaningful conversations. The one who enjoys indulging in one's pursuits of enjoyment. Like him. (no dirty thoughts pls! I meant hobbies!)

He was the one who instilled in me the love for reading. I fondly remember the times that he would used to read me bedtime stories every night. No matter how tired he was. That was how I started devouring any storybook in my sight. You'd find me quite well read in the genre of fairytales. lol.

I miss those days. But I'm too grown up for that now, eh? haha.

He would buy me almost any book I want. Luckily I don't have such a voracious appetite when it comes to reading anymore (see what med sch does to us?!) or he'd be the same situation as k0k's dad. hehe. *pocket bocor* Those books sure don't come cheap.

I also remember how he would cook supper for us every other night. Since he wasn't really a good cook, he could only cook certain foodstuffs. But at least he took the time and effort. And we being kids, didn't even help to wash up. (-_- yesh, I know that is bad of me, I do help now okay)

He was the one who is always open to new ideas, always trying to shorten the so-called generation gap between us. [how has that lead to many a laughter! :D] He was the one who gave me freedom of choice to do what I want to do, and make sure I wasn't intimidated into any choice of career.

Even though he is tired from work - he never found it in him to start scolding me for no reason. He was the one who showed me what was tolerance. And unconditional love for his family.

I lurve the fact that he wasn't a typical egoistic male chauvinist type. He cared for his family, never thinking that helping mummy with the housework or going to the market was beneath him. I admire and loved him for that.

People always used to say I look a lot like him. Secretly, I was happy, hoping that maybe I might have his good personal qualities in me too. (at any rate, I do have the same allergies as him though, lol!)

He is the one who inspired me to be a good doctor, the type that genuinely cares for his patients. (you shld have seen him at work, the patients absolutely lurve him! haha) Seems like I've a lot to learn from him.

Since I'm away from home most of the time now, I really miss my Daddy's comforting presence that "he will make sure everything is okay". Nowadays, when one hvta start fending for oneself, the safe comforts of home seemed like a luxury, not a certainty.

Sometimes, I secretly think that he being such a great father and all, he deserved more. Something better? I dunno. I wish that I'd be able to provide him with the best that I can give him with these two hands of mine. [therefore I must study hard and make him proud of me!!]

To me, he really is the world's greatest dad. =) Thank you for always being there for me. ^v^

I love you, Daddy. Happy Father's Day! *teary*

----------------------------------------------------------

On a lighter note, here's an advert that is simple but damn funny. Do understand the humourous undertones! :P Geddit geddit?

Safe sex, kids! Abstinence is the best cost-saving way! lol.

Anyway, to all my readers out there (I dunno if they fall into that age range yet, haha), Happy Father's Day!

Make sure your dad knows that he's the best!! ^v^

Now, if only my dad would "accidentally" stumble upon this post... *muses*

I Want To Make Them Happy

My parents' voice on the phone never felt so comforting, especially my mum's. She sounded gentle tonight, asking how I've been recently and assuring me that I've done well. (that doesn't happen too often, mind you)

Yes, GI results were released today (well yesterday morning if you wanna be particular - to me, the next day always comes after the sleep).

And boy, were we surprised. Coz I rmb that one of the lecturers promptly told us that they're gonna release our GI results with our EOS results... so I wasn't expecting anything. Which was good in a way coz no expectations = no disappointments. yeah.

Anyway, I was just happily checking my mail this morning (yesh, I check it quite a few times a day - how else would I waste my time away on the internet?) when I saw this email from IMU. Wondering what is it about, I opened it, and lo behold, my result was abruptly staring at me.

Tell you what, they definitely don't do the wishy-washy way when it comes to informing you of your results.

The first line staring at me was this:

Dear Student, your GI results: top secret *insert result here*.

Going around in circles or sugar coating their words ain't their style eh? lol.

Anyway, hearing my mum's voice telling me that "I already did my best and that it was alright" really soothened me up. I feel happy that I managed to get my parents' nod of approval. =) Now to make them happier, I need to do well for this major exam coming my way. It seems like I've finally found a good motivator!

Anyhow, I'm satisfied ade with my results. Heard that quite a number didn't do well. *To my batchmates: we really must gambate for EOS ya!!*

I probably shldn't slack so much nowadays... I know I'm an expert when it comes to procastinating but hey, why shldn't I advance my major in being a consistent worker eh? Well, I think I'll just go for moderation, thank you very much. Somehow being a diligent student that studies 24/7 didn't strike me as an attractive lifestyle. lol.

Yeah, I know I'm talking crap now... coz I feel kinda sleepy (so much for being a night owl) but I wanna stay up a bit to study. ish! Looks like blogging is only distracting me from catching some shuteye temporarily. Once I turn my attention to my notes, I'm pretty sure that my eyelids will fall like there are weights on them, haha.

Alright, time to see if my prediction comes true. tataz!

Teenie update:- yesh it did came true! aikz.

Picturesque Ramble

It isn't often that I feel too lazy to update my blog. Blogging is supposed to be a hobby that I indulge in with pleasure.

But what with the study break and the need for a will to make me study hard everyday, well, there just isn't much to update. In case you're wondering - no it's not going well - and yes I need to spank myself for being a tad too relaxed.

Both sides of the coin ain't too good. Being too relaxed or too stressed up isn't helping in any *freaking* way. As always, moderation is the key... but that is elusive so far. I know I'm so gonna regret this in the few days to come, when I'm frantically reading notes and going out of my mind.

yeah, probably something like this

When will I learn my lesson of not procastinating and being consistent with my work? Who knows. *shrugs* The day that happens will be a day of celebration where pigs start to fly. blek.

riiiight. flying pigs huh.

Nowadays, even me, the non-coffee drinker is looking forward to her daily caffeine boost. I really like the 3-in-1 coffee that I bought from Oldtown Kopitiam... Nice~

IV drip of caffeine anyone?

But becoz of that, my circadian rhythm is also screwed upside down. I nap in the afternoons (which is so not me) and sleep very very late at night. *arggh*

Alrighty, time to get mushy with my notes again.

Hope you enjoyed this picture post! Thought it would be a good replacement when I'm at a loss of words. heh.

Putting Oneself In Others' Shoes

Haven't finish my ramblings of the kkb "trip". Okay, fine, I know we're supposed to go there to learn! And I sure did!

Anyway, something scary happened to me on our 1st day clerking patients in the hospital. Me and my partner had finished clerking our patient - a nice malay old man - when we saw that there was a procedure being done at the bed beside. So we decided to wait and observe how a urinary catheter was inserted.

(jargons from henchforth will be used - so skip if you don't understand okay. I'm just too lazy to explain myself, blek!)

The patient had quite a pitiful history. He was involved in an MVA around a year ago, was now lame in both legs and had shattered his pelvic bone plus other complications. And just recently, he had problems in micturition. So now the doctor wanted to insert a urinary catheter so that he could urinate.

This was the 2nd time they're doing this procedure. It didn't work the 1st time or this time either. Everytime they tried to get something out from the catheter, there was no urine. The patient was in A LOT of pain. His face was all distorted in pain, at that moment, I really could almost feel his pain. (yes, I am an empathic person) The rest of us were wincing visibly now and then too at the thought of the pain he must be going thru. So it wasn't me alone.

It was then when it happened. I had a very acute attack of nausea. Not wanting to disgrace myself by vomitting in the ward (!!), I slowly walked out to find the nearest toilet. Suddenly, immense dizzyness seized me. I didn't know which way was the toilet. The whole world was spinning, my legs felt weak and I couldn't stand properly.

It wasn't like the normal dizzyness where you could still walk around. It felt almost like fainting (not that I've fainted before tho). I nearly lost my footing and fell into the drain. My forehead was suddenly soaked in cold sweat - literally. I was practically scared shitless coz I didn't know what was happening to me. I have always been a very healthty person, so these sort of things had never happened to me before. [hey, I never even had a nose bleed in my life!]

I had to sit down at a corner on the floor - labcoat, stethoscope and all - near the toilet entrance (yeah I managed to find it in the state I was in eh) to get my bearings. I felt so unwell that I had to bury my head as lower as possible. Two people who walked by kept asking me if I was okay. [thks for your concern btw]

After quite sometime, I felt okay enough to try to get back to the ward... but still felt a bit shaky on my feet. When my frenz saw me, they were very shocked. They said that my face and (especially my lips) were very pale. Puifun came rushing to my side. I felt shaky with relief (that at least if anything happened, they're there) and nearly fell down again. blek.

They made me sit down while Puifun went to the canteen to get me some water and glucose! She got me 2 sweets and some mineral water. Luckily Jiayu managed to assure me that smtg similar happened to her b4 so I wasn't so worried (too much of watching House MD I think, lol).

I felt so much better after resting and was normal soon after. Phew~ Thks ya, guys for the concern. =) They were asking me a bit of history and I felt a teenie bit annoyed - so there you go - the experience of being an irritated patient! hehe.

Later I called my dad to enquire why this fainting spell occured. He said it was probably that I put myself in the patient's shoes a bit too much and felt his pain. And that it's normal.

I felt so relieved - that it wasn't some severe debiliatiating disease or that I can't stomach seeing gross scenes thus crippling my chances in becoming a competent doctor. I always tot that I'd have the guts (or would make myself have the guts) to handle whatever gross stuff that will eventually come our way. Luckily, it was probably just too much empathy at the wrong time.

And sometimes we wonder why doctors had to detach themselves from the patients. So much for putting oneself in the patient's shoes, huh...

If it makes a doctor become an incompetent idiot that can't even string a sentence together, then I guess in the end we really need to detach ourselves from our patients (at least partially) to get the job done. Makes one think more, doesn't it?

Anyway, what I learnt from this is that doctors are just humans, so sometimes we shldn't blame them if they're too cold and distant - coz that is how they can function well. Now I must keep telling myself to emotionally/mentally detach when a patient's in pain so that I won't have a fainting spell again!

I was totally fine when I finally got to see part of a delivery the same day, hours later. And it was much more bloody than that. A lot of female students normally get turn away by the thought of giving birth themselves after witnessing a delivery, coz it's scary in a way.

Right, I shld end my ramblings now... Study progress is still kinda slow. But at least I don't stress up so easily now. yeah!

It's a long long journey, the road to have that Dr. in front of your name.

Here's a video of A Day in the Life of a Med Student. It's funny how med students overseas share quite a few similarities to their counterparts here eh...

Mad med students - UNITE! :P

Back From The Sub-Suburbs

Hi guys! I'm finally back and alive from KKB... Felt kinda tired and sleepy after I got back home. But home (yesh, vista is my home in a way now) is really the best! Comfy~

Anyway, I gotta say this: I really had lots of fun this time around~!! ^v^

Group E ppl are so cool! *does victory pose* And my roomies are so fun! Although it was study break for EOS and everyone was supposed to bury themselves in notes and books 24/7, we still took time out to do a lil female bonding. *winks*

We spent almost the whole of one night talking crap away... but it was really nice sharing thoughts, gossip, opinions and jokes with you guys. =) If only we had not felt guilty and decided to continue studying, it'd have been great!

Yesh, of coz, the environment was not as comfy as home. But I think the room on the 2nd floor is much more comfortable. At least there's a table there, and enough chairs. And the shower head is better altho smtg happened to the hanger for clothes, so we hvta put out stuff on a chair outside a cubicle. Kinda 'mafan' but nvm lah. hehe.

Well, there were a lot of experiences to share... Many things happened. So probably will talk abt it in more detail in my next post. Photos might be uploaded then too, if I can get my hands on them! hehe.. Feel kinda sleepy now, blek. So will go take a nap! tataz.

Oh ya, here's a super farny video that most med students would be able to relate to. Teaching you abt the wonders of ECG. I was totally laughing my ass off watching this. Enjoy! :D

Stay Calm

There's a feeling of calmness suddenly.

Even though the news you bring of are in a way "bad news", but it's never too late to learn a lesson from it, eh?

I hope this calmness will prevail. It's such a nice change from the panicky stressful feelings of the past few days. yeah.

Two more hours before I board the bus to KKB... lalala.

Slow Going

Wow, this has gotta be a record. Almost four days of non-updating me blog.

Betcha thought that I was happily mugging away on my notes. Well, you're not exactly wrong either. I was trying hard to force myself to read the notes, but somehow my attention and concentration kept wavering. So I definetely wasn't very happy with myself.

So... now, I have the urgency but none of that urge or will to sit my ass on that chair and read my notes with full attention - without surfing aimlessly on my blog + watching anime + or playing stupid addictive games.

(Btw, here's a game for those that need a plain old good destressing. I know I do.)

However, if you tot that I must be sleeping well these few days, then you're wrong. Have been dozing off while studying almost every other night. Which leads to unrefreshing sleep and lethargy, which is so not conducive for studying the next day. Ish.

In conclusion, I'm hopeless in disciplining myself to study!! =(

*Shyt* And why do I have a feeling that my blog posts in the coming month are all gonna be rants abt how slow my progress in revising!! If I do find the urge to type anything at all.. being so dull and depressed abt my revision and all. bleh.

And I know I said I won't be bothered by how much revision have others covered. But hell, some ppl are totally G0Ds! They have covered so much in so short a time-span. And I seemed to have forgotten almost everything I've studied in foundation2! *die*

Am so gonna die for EOS3... but I can't give up yet. Not now.

PS: Going KKB for rotation posting tomorrow. So expect no updates till thursday night. Unless I suddenly get my hands on a computer and an internet connection there. Which is a laughable thought for a place that don't even have kfc or mcds. heh.

A Down Day

Dunno why, don't feel good today, especially after the numerous Pathology labs today.

Felt kinda lethargic and went back and slept for more than 2 hours. And you know I normally don't do afternoon naps if I can help it. I didn't even felt like going out for dinner, so just cooked smtg simple.

I was kinda demoralized after the patho labs... coz the lecturers were asking so many things. And now only I finally come to the realization that I cannot remember so many things! *starts panicking and hyperventilating*

Maybe this is the wake up call I've been waiting for? I hope it motivates me instead of demoralizing me.

I dunno how am I gonna go thru the next month. With nothing on my mind but studying? I prefer if someone wud kindly shoot me.

Okay, fine, that was just crap. But seriously, I don't look forward to studying all the time for 4 more weeks.

I better buck up... coz really don't wanna fail as this exam is super important! I don't want to let my family down either. And I really wanna be a good doctor.

Right, enough crapping and back to burying my head among the notes.

PS: I need your support and encouragement now. But you're not here now. But I know you're giving me mental strength from afar. =)

PPS: KKB posting next monday till thursday. I'm grateful that I got the shorter, no-need-to spend-weekend-grp. But I kinda dislike the environment there which is either rainy or super hot. And that'd be yet another few days wasted which I don't think I can do any productive studying. *sigh*

A Med Joke And Then Some

Seriously, I think being a med student really consumes you - body and soul. Even the most normal of everyday things can be twisted to suit the warped viewpoint of a med student.

Case in question wud be something that happened last friday during our post-exam trip to Midvalley. (Names have been simplified to protect them from killing me.) :P

F: Hey, let's go look at colognes!

W: *stunned look and thinks to herself* Colons?

Me and F noticed the incredulous look on her face and started laughing uncontrollablly.

PS: Finally got to watch the finale of Heroes. The front was still as nail-biting as ever, but the ending wasn't as good as I expected... Well, I hope Season 2 gets better!

PPS: Found this anime which so far is quite intriguing. It's called Uninhabited Planet Survive. Click here for the link to stream it. It's about a bunch of teens from the future who accidentally got stranded on some uninhabited planet while they're on a sch trip to some other planet. Earth is no longer livable then, and they stay in space colonies which are totally man-made! To know more, just watch the anime! hehe.

PPPS: Yesh, I know I shld be studying my ass off the past few days, but I feel so lazy. There is no sense of urgency. And recently I've been addicted to this game called Sid Meier's Pirates - Live The Life! It's super fun... and I've been playing till I lost count of time, uh-oh. Can someone pls gimme a sense of urgency pls?? *sigh*

PPPPS: Today we had Behavioural Science - BS lab and practicals. The lab was kinda boring, but the practical was really fun~! Our difficult patients today were supposed to be anxious, even till the extent of crying! One of the SPs had damn good acting skills, I cud really believe that her anxiety was real. Omg! My SP's case was really funny becoz it involved some sensitive issues - i.e. sexual life. Hehe...

PPPPPS: Oh ya, almost forgot. Hope you guys have noticed that I've put up a new pic at my sidebar. Isn't it nice? *winks* Btw, I've added some photoshop effects to it to erm.... enhance my original beauty, yeah. It's my first effort in photoshopping a non-abstract subject. But I didn't do much lah, if you get what I mean. hehe.

Post GI

Well, this is the obligatory-every-post-exam-cum-celebrations-must-have-post. Where I shall keep to the tradition of first ranting abt the exam (with lots of minute details) and then finishing with a long-winded description of how we celebrated after that... lol.

I shall begin. Hajimek~

GI exam. How shall I put it? Seniors have always told us that this was THE toughest system to boot in all the systems studied in sem 2/3. And they were right. Amounting to a crazy total of 6 weeks, with the GI system covering the whole GI tract from the oral cavity down to the anus, that's one looooong way. Notwithstanding the fact, there's also liver, gallbladder and your pancreas. Crazy, ain't it?

Just a simple diagram to illustrate my point. hehe.

And now the uni has cut down on the lectures by taking away 11 lectures compared to seniors, expecting us to cover it in PBL or by reading on your own. Tough, man. And the poor lecturers were afraid that we might missed smtg, and thus have a tendency to merge 2 lectures into 1, making it hideously too fast for us to absorb what the heck is the lecturer talking abt. -_-

Oops, seemed to have digressed a bit, shld be talking abt the exam, not giving an intro abt how hard is it. lol.

Well, many synonyms can be used to describe the exam, but I shall stick with just one adjective - difficult. Lots of small minute details were asked. And funnily, as we often complained that pharmacology always come out very little in the previous papers, that day, we're left dumbfounded by the number of pharmacology questions that came out. :O I almost neglected reading that, but thks to the powers above that I didn't in the end. (actually it was only becoz I already made a mind map for it, so tot that shldn't waste my effort in making it, so shld read a bit, hehe) Lucky! :P

Oh ya, I gotta admit, this paper was set so much better than the last one. The questions weren't so vague anymore, it was a plain old case of either you know or don't know. Not like last time, where there were many questions that I knew the answers, but just didn't know that those are what they wanted. blek. This paper had a good balance of pharmaco, anatomy and pathology plus what-is-your-diagnosis-type of questions. Well, maybe a bit too little of physiology tho. But at least not always harping abt pathology tho, haha. The questions were more integrated too.

For me, I tot I did relatively better in the BCQ part (meaning I felt that I was fairly certain of the answers) manatau, I found out that I made lots of mistakes during the feedback. Aikz. See lah, too confident... shld have doubted the answers more. But I doubted too much during Haemato and changed lots of my answers, which were all wrong. Both approaches also failed. The best way is to really know your stuff so that you definitely picked out the best answer!! (yalah, I know, the last statement is redundant, lol)

SAQ was okay. Except that I suddenly cudnt rmb anything abt Ulcerative Colitis, altho I was anticipating it coming out in the exam... =( Time! What I needed is time... and maybe less procastination. Typical. haha.

OSPE, keeping to the tradition of making us utter "Wth!" under our breaths once we see the pics, was no less different this time. Q1 was okay, no prob with it. It was Q2 that provoked said reaction. I dunno how to classify the Q, it was more like anatomy of the mouth down to the epiglottis. But the labels were kinda unclear, not sure is which part they wanted. And I still think that the sublingual gland they labelled looks totally like a muscle, not fair!! *sigh*

Okay, I think that's enough abt the exam. Or my non-med-student-readers are gonna protest! lol.

---------------------------------------------------

This time, as a post-exam-celebrations, we went to Midvalley catch Pirates of Carribean - At World's End.

Funny, I don't rmb seeing this poster. Maybe someone modified it or smtg.

We're also celebrating Li Yann's bday on that day too. (paiseh, everyone was so busy, so we hvta postpone the celebrations till that day ya!)

Where was I? Oh ya, Pirates. We're late due to the jam and a few ppl who were doing their AIR topic last minute. Aikz. So was kinda blur in the first few minutes of the movie.

Anyway, let me tell you, this movie totally rawrs!! It's one of the best movies I've watched in a looong time (hey I don't say that often).

Great action, nice choreography, solid plot, funny jokes, brilliant acting and not to forget, the loveable Captain Jack Sparrow. He's totally the funniest. My fav character. hehe. This movie is a must watch, I give it 5 stars! ^v^

Sao Feng (Chow Yun Fatt's Character), Barbosa & Jack Sparrow. they're pretty cool~!

My only grouch is that it was a bit too long (170 minutes) and my bladder kinda protested halfway... I cudnt go to the toilet becoz I didn't want to miss anything and the uncle sitting at the side is very garang. If I go out, he sure scold me wan. scary~ Besides, my fren said the door was locked too. :O

For dinner, we went to Kim Gary! (haha, my fav) I tried smtg new for once, had the spaghetti baked with cheese and chicken. Was quite nice, but of coz, the cheese-baked rice is the best. I'm totally a fan of Hong-Kong fusion food. *winks*

Of coz, no bday celebrations are ever complete without a cake! We had laid our plans well, we asked someone else other than our girl gang to get the cake, so as not to arouse her suspicions. Thks to ThuanTzen and LiShan who got the cake! =)

And we managed to surprise her "a bit"... so guess all's well. ["A bit" becoz SueWen nearly terbocor our plans, haha]

After that we went jalan-jalan a bit lo. Managed to buy something (the usual after exam self-pampering) but still can't find the bag I need. Aikz. Dunno when's the next time we'll have time to hang out again. We seemed to pattern hang-outs after an exam, which is quite sad, isn't it? *sigh*

Then, it was time to go home lo. It was quite late ade at that time, and some still needed to drive home from vista to PJ. And thus ended the celebrations. I had a great time... ^o^

And after fun, comes hard work. Aikz. Time to start slogging for EOS3! =(

We all must gambate ya! This is THE exam!!

PS: Sorry if I sound incoherent in this post. Kinda late at night when I was typing this post.. sleepy. hehe

Freaking Frustrated~!

Today has just been nothing but one bad news after the other. =(

Had the EOS briefing at 11 am, and we're (well more specifically) moi was frightened to death over the fact that I have so much to cover for EOS and I haven't even freaking started!!

And Dr.Thani bombarded us with slide after slide of OSPE pics. Oh yes, shoot me pls.

Anyway, after that it was some briefing on our electives. And once again, I was chosen to be leader for my group (by some random bad fate or smtg)! Aikz. And I didn't have breakfast so was ravished (as in ravenous + famished! eh, I invented a new word for super hungry! haha...) but still hvta stay back, arggh. However, that's a small thing of coz, luckily for my group, we're all going different places, so we hvta write our own letters. Well, I'd briefed all the ppl in my group, so that's over and done with. phew~

After that, it was a lecture on pancreatic pathology... I feel so drained. (btw, it's the last lecture of sem3! omg!)

And all this time, I was suffering from quite severe back pain. I dunno why it's been coming on and off for the past week... Hope it's not a malignancy or smtg! :O *smacks own head for thinking too much*

Put all this aside, the killer bad news came during dinner.

I'm supposed to move in July, and I'd found a suitable room a few weeks ago. Tot all was settled and was quite happy. Manatau, today only the agent called me to say that there was a mistake in the rent agreed~! WTF!

Instead of the market price of abt RM500 for the room, she told me that it was supposed to be a twin-sharing with each paying RM500!!!! And she was oh-so-nice to talk to the owner and got me a discounted rent of RM700!

$%^*&%*@!!!!!! (sorry, I've run out of appropriate expletives!!)

That is SO not worth it... and your house isn't that nice either okay! Totally freaking insane. And summore hvta pay all 6 months' rent in one shot. No wayyyy!!

So I probably hvta turn her down... which means I'll be sleeping on the streets, come July. -_-

I'm freaking frustrated now... This has happened too many times!! Really sick of all this. ARRGH. Is it so hard to find a room that I want or am I too picky?!

Why does this sort of thing always happens to me? I see other ppl living so happily with their hsemates... they help each other and sorts. I don't ask for so much, I just wanna have a peaceful life and study with calm emotions.

Is that too much to ask for? Gah. *stomps around room, pretending that I weigh as much as an elephant, okay, fine I was just trying to be farny*

Whatever. I gotta pull myself together and study hard for the coming exam first...

But my emotions are affecting me too much. Progress is slow. I'm so dead. shyt. ='(

Penchant For Porridge

I seemed to have a penchant for posting food posts recently. [There's nothing wrong with a girl saying that she lurves food okay! I'd say that eating good food is sort of a reward for me...]

I'll try to make this a quick one, with pics!

Anyway, this is what I had for dinner today. I had been totally craving for porridge (don't ask me why) for the past few days, so I finally got to cook it today. Of coz, it's not as tasty as the ones my mum cooked, but I'll improve over time!

Tada~!

Chicken Porridge with mushroom and nuts for that added crunch!

Actually, I know why my porridge doesn't taste as nice as my mum's porridge. Becoz I used chicken fillet instead of real chicken with bones... The chicken pieces felt relatively hard. aikz. Next time hvta buy real chicken I guess, but kinda troublesome. Hvta chop chicken pulak. -_- No time lah...

I finally got the porridge to the consistency I want - not too watery or too thick, just nice. The first time I cooked, it became too thick in the end.

This is my first time eating it with nuts, it's a good addition to the porridge, and of coz, with limited ingredients, it's always a mix and cook fest for me! hehe.

Below is the so-called side dish.

Side dish... a fusion of foodstuffs.

I think you know the nuggets, they're a regularly featured member of this blog, so they need no introduction :P (what can I say? They are ready made, easy to cook and yummy to taste! lol.)

The salted eggs are a first, I just lurve eating porridge with salted eggs. There's another dish my mum used to cook - which is steam egg mixed with meat that I liked eating with porridge too, but I don't have the equipment for that here.

If you're observant, you might have noticed that there are small pieces of meat on the plate. Those are chicken fillet dipped in egg and fried... Tastes okay, probably shld have added some seasoning tho.

Just another closed-up pic of my porridge... *nice taste*

"Huh? It's looks a bit bland?"

Of coz I added generous amounts of soya sauce and pepper before I eat lah.. haha. Besides, the salted egg gives it enough taste already.

Alright, signing off now, till the next food post! *licks lips*
