A Usual Weekend. Albeit With A Few Differences..

Well, this weekend was a pretty good one... Very peaceful coz bro went for some Leo club thingy... Gone for three days! Yippee! Kinda give the ~~PeaCe~~ thingy another meaning leh...! lol. And I enjoyed it a lot except the part where I started feeling sick *Sorethroat* on saturday morning... What a lousy start to a weekend!! :T

Anyway, should have started to do my mountainous load of assignments. Instead I spent my time on9-ing (Is there such a word??) Only finished my maths homework.. which I did until late into the nite... Due to extreme procastinating... Shld I make it a dirty word here?? Oh dear! Gotta try to change this attitude lo... Arghh.

So did I do anything productive this weekend?? Eexcept on9-ing & playing on my PS2.. I dun think so...O.o.. Whatever.

Can't think of anything to write coz I alwiz hate writing abt things in the ancient past... [I'm writing this on tue... What can I say? Typical procastinator ma...lol] and I totally have a short memory span for this sort of everyday stuff... Well well. Juz thk god that doesn't happen wif the thingsI study for test... or else 'charm' liao lo..

Since this is the case.. I will end my case here. (Yes, pun intended) Maybe I shld write about tue [today] then I won't forget lo... Alright then! Charge!!

Such A Stressful Week..!

Argghh.. That doesn't sound like a good beginning of a cheery post, right? So, if you're looking forward to a optimistic, rise-and-shine sort of post, I'm terribly afraid that you're looking in the wrong place... So, before you cry and rain blows onto the poor pc, maybe it would be a better idea to leave here now...

Don't the beginning sound a bit like Lemony Snicket??

Whatever. I'm trying not to work myself up into a mood. Ok, calm down.. *Deep breaths* Yeah... better!

Anyway, this week was totally crazy! Really hectic week!! I said so becoz I have tons of homework that I should be doing [instead of blogging la], Assignments!! Also juz sat for a Malaysian Studies test on fri [Totally hate studying for it.. Fell asleep halfway due to extreme boredomness of the text book... Zzz.]

Btw, you can still leave here if you want. You still got time...haha... =Q

I dunno what I shld write here coz feeling kinda frazzled.. I dunno what's wrong with the lecturers...! I wonder why they alwiz give a lot of homework at the same time...! Crazy! Then, sumtimes, we dun even have a single bit of homework.. So I just go home and shake leg lo..lol. Really!!

Makes a girl wonder what the world is coming to... Now, if the lecturers will juz sit down and coordinate their homework-giving schedule.. The world would be a better place for the younger generation.. seriously... Juz kiddin la. No such miracle ever gonna happen...if ever!

Whatever, dun really wanna talk about homework here in my blog. :(

Nothing special happened this week. Well, nothing that I can remember la.. So I think I'm gonna end this post here coz you readers will be seriously pissed off if I keep on babbling here... especially the seasoned readers...*Btw, thx for your support! Really appreciated..*

Tata!

PS: Might add anything in a later post if I happen to think of something special... Till then, total nothing, Nada, Zilch!

Parent's Day Is So..

scary...! My anxiety levels were totally rising! Juz kidding..

I was pretty cool with it since i'm a good student--academic wise and behaviour wise (Well, at least, that's what I THINK!! Hope & hope... *Cross fingers*)

Btw, did I mention it was totally a long wait.. I came at around 8:15am coz it's suppose to start around 8am to 12pm... but leela asked us to come earlier so there I was... Forced out of bed by my dad... Feeling really sleepy but what to do?? Zzz... And I think it was because Leela specifically asked us all to come earlier that when I reached there wif my dad, there were oredi clusters of ppl oredi. Damn. So we waited and waited.. kinda like getting your passport eh..or IC la..

Anyway, I saw that poor Mr.Ranjit's table wasn't popular so pulled my dad over to talk to him... Imagine what my dad said to him! He asked Ranjit whether he was the author of a book abt Malaysian Gov [Dad! He's teaching Eng! Not History or whatever.] written by another Mr.Ranjit Singh Maldhi.. which is definitely not the one sitting rite in front of me..lol.

Well, they were laughing a lot la.. whatever.. Anyway, ranjit didn't have anything much to say about me *coz I'm such an angel.. Haha* except I'm doing well in ENG!! Yay!! It's totally my fav subject coz i dun really need to study for it... You know what I mean. Juz compare it with my other sciences... Damn lot of work...!!

Then, I waited in line for 1 of 2 lecturers... either I get leela or Dr.Ooi {bio} 1st.. and.. I got Dr.ooi.. and he was kinda blur blur. When my dad asked whether the UAI was based on region or international~~ which he could fully ask me anyway...Since I know~~Dr.Ooi said region! And I rmb that it wasn't so... In the end, he asked leela...which she said, INTERNATIONAL of coz! Duh!! Whatever! Dr.Ooi oso nothing much 2 say..except good things!! *Winks*

Then, I decided that i should wait in line to see Mr.Leong {phy} coz there were not so many ppl waiting at dat time... and horrors of horrors!! When it was time, my dad told Mr.leong that I do not read enuf of the newspapers (I REALLY DO READ EH!!) and leong also said that he had to cut out newspapers cuutings for his daughter and that his wife only reads the entertainment page!

Man! They were really hitting it off! Fathers!! lol.. Whatever...! So, there I was 'grinding my teeth', trying not to laugh coz I was thinking of leong cutting out newspapers for his daughter! Eh! Those of you who know him & reading this blog, do you find this hilarious?! And I was also imagining him berating his wife for only reading entertainment news!! HAHA!! :D But at least leong didn't say any bad things abt me *Well, he was kinda in a pretty good mood that day, smiling all over his face.. Maybe he was anticipating what to tell the parents of the naughty students??* Well, it does not concern moi eh..

Wait! I almost forgot! He said something that I think is funny. He told my dad that I have 'a good group of frenz'... & I tried to be conversational and all so I pretended that I didn't know who he was talking abt...

And went: 'Oh! You're talking about yuki they all?

And he said (I think la, can't really rmb)---> 'Who else? You're alwiz with them, right?'

So I replied: 'Yeah. Sir, you're very observant..'

Anyway, leong then said: 'That's my job. So, here I'm to report to your parents...' -_-

After a few minutes of trying not to laugh, it was finally over! Then I wondered whether to wait in line for leela or UPO [university placement office] Decided 2 spilt up with my dad... Each wait for one... How's that for strategy?? Hehe...

Anyway, we're lucky that we got leela {chem} 1st after a terrible long wait which I spent gossiping with my frenz about what the lecturers said lo... Some of the comments made were pretty funny but it'd be politically incorrect to repeat them here.. Hehe...so relax my frenz... Your secrets are safe wif me...! Aikz.

Well, leela had nothing but nice things to say abt me! :D She said I was ---> Excellent, a good girl, responsible (Huh?! Is this for real?) and dunno some more what... Can't rmb so many adjectives.. :P [Well, ppl never praised me to my face like that before ah..]

Anyway, she asked my dad not to worry abt me.. Let's hope that keeps my dad happy! I think i got off lucky since she was rather "straightforward" about other ppl to their parents.. I swear she told a mother that her son/daughter {which was not present} that he/she was very lazy a couple of times... Talk about being matter-of-fact! Go figure!

Pheww. Finally got that out of my system liao! Anyway, then my father decided that he wanted to talk to UPO... So we sat in line... AGAIN. Argghh.. Whatever. And when simone looked at my result (which I think is quite okay) she said: 'This is good but not good enuf... If you're looking to take up medicine...in australia...' which I then protested inwardly that I was not going to a uni in Aus... So there! Anyway, due to this, I got a relatively mild lecture from my dad on the way home in da car.. I think its becoz the other lecturers painted such a flaming good picture of me that he did not lecture me so badly... Thk God!

After that episode, my dad said it was time to go! But I asked him what abt my maths lecturer, Mr Goh? *He might have bad things to say abt me leh... Nah, I din really say that! lol.* Dad said he's lazy to wait liao... and actually I juz really wanna hang out with frenz, not hear my lecturer ramble abt me... So i said bye! to frenz and that was that!!

Really an unusual day I guess! Hakuna matata! NO WORRIES! :P

Not-Bad Week, I Guess...

Well, nothing much to say except that this week was a pretty good one excluding monday, that is. Since this monday was the-day-b4-passing-up-physics-assignment-day... which is practically the day where everything falls apart...

My experimental value had an amazing total error of 34.47%!!! OMG!!! I think that really beats everyone's record...! -_-

So, in the end, I had to repeat the experiment after I gobbled my lunch alone.... Since somehow my frenz knew beforehand that they're going out for lunch and stupid me didn't know.. So there was I sitting in cyber -- really the picture of loneliness eating spaghetti that didn't taste too good -- and I was already feeling frustrated bcoz of my stupid phy assignment!!! Arggh! Thk god that's over now!

And since I din know whether my results were accurate... I decided to do it again during my free period... And I have to rush around like a mad person coz I was carpooling with my fren and can't be late!! :O

But other than that, I guess the other days were pretty good! We went out for lunch everyday! That was great coz I have been eating the food in cyber for like almost everyday... and I'm pretty fed-up oredi (pun intended)!! The funny thing was, we went to this kopitiam on tuesday... and guess who we met there?? Mr.Ranjit and some other admistrators. And he was pretty friendly and even said Hi to us!! Hehe.

Then we went to have our lunch lo.. Hokkien mee never tasted so nice... considering I'm escaping an eternity of spaghetti and chicken chops... Scary. Come to think of it.

I guess there's nothing much to say oredi.. I'm feeling a little lazy too.. Anyway, nothing special sticks out in my mind... Gtg!

Bring Out The Personality In You!

I got this personality test from lydia's blog and below are my results... Coincidentally, my results are the same with her's for the 1st one.. Hmm...

Eye

~*~Beautiful Soul~*~You're the type of person who is loving, giving,
sweet, generous, genuine, and optimistic. You
see the beauty around you and you admire it for
its faults, as well as perfections. Most likely
a dreamer, you are highly respected and liked.
People like to be around you because you make
them happy. You have a wonderful personality
and you're beautiful inside and out!

Fire element

Your element is Fire. Like fire, you have a hot
temper and you can be warm and loving as well
and angry and wild. It all really comes down to
what you are feeling. You have a lot of close
friends who you are very protective over, and
with your temper probably some enemies too. You
are not Miss Popular in school since you are
your own person and don't want to be forced
into behaving this or that way. You are the
untamed wild horse, the kind that everyone
wants to catch. But you don't want to be tied
down for the moment and just keep going with
your little crushes. Your will is strong and if
you set your mind to do something, you will
most likely succeed. But beware, your friends
may not always accept your mood-swinging
behaviour. Even if you don't mean to be mean,
they can still feel hurt. You just need to
start thinking some things through before you
do them, and not always jump in with so much
courage. One day you may be hurt because of
that, but then again, your element isn't fire
if you start to analyse situations before you
act. After all, your nature is to shoot first
and ask the questions later.

What is your element? [with pics + 7 outcomes + detailed answeres!]

Boredomness is the Mother of Writing?

Hmmm... Kinda dunno what to write rite now... coz my fren lydia kinda 'force' me to online (not that I don't enjoy it...lol.) but I really prefer going down into the music room below to jam it out wif my new love a.k.a. the DRUM SET!! Anyway, nothing's interesting going on in my life right now except that I'm really bored.. Is that even remotely interesting? Guess not... Haha.

*Looking around and casting my eyes around for a topic*

Yes! Finally got a topic oredi: Yesterday, I juz went for my MUET speaking exam..

Let me tell you, it was a disaster!! Yikes!! The topic my batch got (the 11pm batch, lucky me, got to wake up late...haha) was--->Young ppl today have a lot of stress and tension in their lives. Suggest the best way to help them relieve this stress. (This is not the exact version of the question but juz the gist that I remember.. Hehe.)

The way given to me was 'talking to frenz' which was one of the best ways!! Yes!! But somehow I managed to mess it up by talking wayyyy too fast... I really mean it when I said I talked too fast!!! OMG!! We're given 2 minutes for the individual speech and I managed to finish mine in like 1 minute... and one of da invigilators (she was pretty kind actually) even said and I quote: "Candidate A (that's me!), you still have one more minute to go, so pls continue... Slow down... Don't go so fast..."

Yikes! Talk about embarassing... I was going as fast as a bullet train that I'm afraid that they won't understand what I was saying juz now... Damn! I really hope they won't penalize me for that... at least linhui-- she's Candidate B'-- said that she could understand what I was babbling abt... Thk God!!

Then after all the others have spoken, it was time for our dicussion which was supposed to last for 10 minutes.. I think we all did pretty well (though linhui disagrees.. Why??) coz we're cracking jokes and the friendly invigilator was laughing with us too (mind you.. it's with us, not at us...)

So, let's juz say that the atmosphere was pretty terrific for a formal discussion that was supposed to be some sort of test.. Haha. Anyway, I think I did pretty well for the discussion--let's hope that I get some brownie points to cover up my lousy speech... *Prays although I'm agnostic*

Btw, after the 10 minutes thingy, which I think we used up only 8+ minutes, we're supposed to agree on one... and... they agreed to mine due to my wonderful argueing skills that I gained from debating.. Juz kiddin. It's pretty obvious that that way was the best one...lol.

Right, I forgot to mention what the other ways were so how are you suppose to judge? This is the way how teenagers "supposedly" handle stress/tension:

Candidate A---> Talking to frenz (Yea, that's me!)
Candidate B---> Exercising regularly (Huh? Did I hear that right?)
Candidate C---> Doing social work (No comment)
Candidate D---> Watching TV (Cough potato! Woo~)

Duh...right? Of coz the best way is the first, rite? And I think the last one was the worst! And poor candidate D got spattered by the three of us juz at the start of the discussion.. Haha...poor guy...

Well, let's juz cross our fingers together that I get at least a Band 4 for my MUET exam which by the way stands for Malaysian University English Test for those not in the know... Coz I'm going to need at least that to get into the uni of my choice...

May The Force Be With ME!!

Oh, yeah, Star Wars is coming out next week too... Looking forward to it... *Cross fingers*

The Return of Me..! Self Discovery Workshop..

Ooo.. Haven't posted in a few days due to a much regretted computer malfunctioning.. Something wrong about my security settings that prevented me from accessing most websites especially any website that needed me to sign in!!!

The repairman said that my pc kena spyware leh...!! I have to reformat my whole pc...leading to the immense loss of data...like... my emoticons... I hav been collecting a lot liao leh... Arggh.. and that tore me away from my blog for so many days!! Well, to be honest, there is nothing faintly interesting for me to write except that to my despair, college life has resumed its usual path.. Haha.. Juz kidding..

I was pretty much dying of boredom anyway and couldn't wait for the new semester to star.. Secretly, part of me still IS in holiday mood.. lol.. Well, that's me… During the holidays, I want the semester to start.. When the semester do starts, I desperately want the holidays back so I can relax!!! Actually, many ppl are also like that coz when I mentioned it to them, they totally agree with me.

Well, there's nothing much to say that except that I attended a MBTI or (was it MBIT?) workshop this saturday... and it was pretty cool and fun compared to the last one I attended where ppl were supposed to learn how to use their brain which I oredi know pretty well, thank you very much... lol. Anyway, this workshop was pretty useful as I 'got to know myself a little better'...

Ok, guess what I got for my personality test?? *Drum roll pls* I'm a ENTP...that stands for Extraversion, iNtution, Thinking, Perceiving.. I'm kinda lazy to explain everything so I will juz plagairize this part from my fren, lydia's blog... so, let's take off!! (Thks, lydia..)

This workshop was called the 'self-discovery' workshop. We filled in a questionaire called the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) *This questionaire is copyrighted & usually costs ard RM40 to it, the coll let us do it for free!* and then from there we get our 'reported MBTI type'. Then the trainers explained the letters & their meaning & then we self-estimated our own type.

Then we compared both the types according to a table which lists out our abilities & all tat (seen above). Then we chose one that suits us most. That is our 'best estimate MRTI type'. There are the E (extroversion) v.s. the I (introversion). Extroverts are the ppl who ..uh.. talk alot. And Introverts are the ppl who dun talk so much. Hehe... E's are ppl who tend to talk a lot in discussions n I's are those who tend to keep their thoughts to themselves & speak up only when necessary. I estimated myself to be a slight I (well, let's juz say I was confused...linhui must be laughing coz she knows I talk too much!!). Blek.

There are the S (sensing) v.s. the N (iNtuition). Sensing are ppl who take in information more by their five senses. intuition ppl take in more by... intuition. :P So the eg. given to us of a sensing person is one who will bake a cake that is proclaimed delicious by everyone & then the next time he bakes a cake, he will try to produce a same kind of cake as the first one.

The intuition ppl pula, will still wan to bake a cake tat is different from the first one bcuz he just feels like experimenting with it. The S are also ppl tat are more realistic & take a down-to-earth approach whereas N are ppl that like to fantasize more. I estimated myself to be a moderate I.

Anyway, there are also the T (thinking) v.s. the F (feeling). T are ppl who do things more according to logic & experience whereas F are ppl who do things more according to their feelings. F are ppl who take more care abt others feelings. T are ppl who prefer justice & fairness. Eg. given was T is one who feels more able to reprimand a teammate or fire a worker if he wasn't doing a good job. F are ppl who feel difficulty in doing tat 7 would rather to find another way around it even though it costs them. I estimated myself to be a T. But sometimes I think that I could act like a F person too... It depends on the situation, I guess...

Last pair: J (judging) v.s. P (perceiving). J are ppl who are organised, like to plan ahead, dun like too many changes in plans, & feel stressed out by last min stuff. P are ppl who are more flexible, spontaneous, takes things casually, more adaptable to changes & tend to do things at last min. I estimated myself to be a J due to sum ppl's comments that I alwiz try to get work done early... but... I came out as a P... Go figure. lol...

My reported mbti type : ENTP

My MBTI type self-estimate: INTJ

My best estimate MBTI type: ?NT?

All these types are supposed to be the natural self of us, not the 'study self' , nor the 'working self' nor the 'under-stress self'. :P So dun associate studying with your natural self unless you find studying a pleasureable thing to do. Really!! And usually there is no middle path oso. {I'd really prefer to walk the middle path anyway... I thought moderation is the key?}

Either you are an E or an I. The trainer told us we all had a prefered side to us, like sum of us prefer using our right hand or sum prefer the left hand. If we are able to use both hands equally well, our brain would face a dilemma each time we wan to pick up sumthing as it wun be able to decide which hand to use everytime. haha. so there would be sum hesitation b4 actually picking up sumting & therefore it doesn't work tat way.

You would only prefer one hand better. it is the same for all these types. You either are born an E or an I. Yyour preferred type can change. But tat is alwiz due to environmental factors.

Anyway, we did sum activities in groups for each of the types & saw tat each type really had its own personality. Opposing types really had totally different ways of coping in the same situation!.. It was funny & hilarious in certain situations. The workshop made us see more clearly why diff ppl react in diff ways & why we get along better with certain ppl than others. The moral of it is tat we should learn to accept each others differences & learn to get along with everyone. Yay!!

Ok. This part is from lydia's blog albeit with a few changes from moi... Anyway, I think that's all for now... Going to be a very long post lo.. If i continue.. Don't want your eyes to pop out..lol. :P

PS:- Hey, guys! PLS visit my new blog thru the link on my right hand corner of this blog that says--> My Alter Ego!! It's going to be one hella of a ride so enjoy it!! :D

Checkin' My Vital Signs---Fun!

Right, I forgot to mention something that happened on the last day I volunteered at PAH. The nurse in charge taught me and Lydia how to get a patient's vital signs--that is---> Blood pressure, Pulse and Temperature.. She said that she might needs us to help if a really emergency case comes in.. Like we could help them get the vital signs of the patient..

Ooo.. To measure the first two, a machine kind of like a squarish box on a stand is used. The nurse demonstrated how to use it by putting it on Lydia's arm.. A flap-like thing is wrapped around her arm and you gotta push certain buttons on the box-like machine. Then, the flap tightens up and the second number (on the box) shows you how much pressure is exerted on one's arm..

We tried it out ourselves and it was pretty funny--I think I must have laughed too much so the machine couldn't measure my pulse or blood pressure (BP) properly the first time, causing it to tighten a lot--normally, the machine exerts around 180, that time, it exerts about 299 on my arm.. My arm felt like it was going to break.. The blood even stopped flowing down the lower part of my arm!! When the flap finally loosened, I can even feel a hot rush of blood rushing down my arm!! Seriously!! OMG!!

Anyway, my blood pressure was 114/89 and my pulse was 94.. The first numbers b4 the stroke is my *systolic pressure while the numbers after the stroke is my **diastolic pressure.. My dad says that my BP numbers are okay..but my ***pulse was a bit high--he said it could be due to my crazy laughing that caused it to shoot up.. so I guess it's ok, I hope. :P Well, I could try cutting down on those oily foodstuff I guess.. *Shrugs*

Right, and we used a ear thingy shaped like a green fat pen to measure our body temperature... nothing special abt that, except we didn't know how deep to put it into someone's ear... Gotta be careful.. Hehe.

That's all for now... until the next post, cya!!

* Systolic pressure is the pressure of the blood when the heart is pumping blood into the aorta.

** Diastolic pressure is the pressure of the blood when the heart is resting and the blood is juz flowing thru the blood vessels..

*** Pulse is kind of a measure of the heart rate..heart beat. Same thing, I guess.

Cut! And...It's A Wrap!!

Well, today's the last day (officially la) for my volunteering at PAH... Actually, I was hoping that maybe in the near future that I may come back to volunteer again but I guess I juz dun have the time... Hopefully I will come after my Finals--scary now that I mentioned it...hehe...

OK, anything interesting happened today? Let me see... Hmmm... The head volunteer wanted to give us 3 marketing today but I asked her if it was ok if I go to ER again since I've been there yesterday and it will be easier for them too.. Besides, there's slightly more action at ER anyway...!!

Lydia also asked to be in ER so there were 2 volunteers there today... Yokekei went back to Surgical 2... The others din turned up, wondered where they've gone... Maybe it was too tiring for them--understatement of the year--I got very sore feet--> I think I got to exercise more..! :P

After running around the hosp for three days, I got to know the layout of the hosp pretty well now--see, I know where the Lab, X-Ray, Pharmacy, Wards, Heart & Vascular Center, Counters and of coz the ER are... Pretty good coz the corridors are pretty confusing, and there were so many lifts... As a bonus I din ask anyone where any place was! I juz learnt thru the General Tour given--not bad considering I'm lousy at directions...hehe... :P

Ok, today there was a little girl sent in with a gash below her chin--bleeding slightly... The Doc in charge was pretty nice, she asked me & lydia to help with the pillows and surgical light & stuff, so we got to see it... First, the doc (female) used this cottonball thingy (that we used to dig our ears with) to kind off pat her flesh back into da wound--the little girl was quite brave although she was squirming in pain--then the nurse put dis purple liquid in da wound as a disinfectant (most probably KMnO4) before bandaging it up... The little girl was juz accompanied by her kindergarden teacher, she said parents are to buzy to see minor injuries on their children--a trip to the ER is considered minor! Wow, such relaxed parents!! Juz great! -_-

And as a plus, we got to see how an endoscopy was done too... It's done using this long black tube dat was quite thick, considering dat it is going to be put into da patient's throat so dat the doc can get a view of da internal organs & stuff... Dr.Murli was quite nice, he even intro to us what a endoscope is..of coz it was brief but I think it was nice of him coz I've met sum docs who won't talk at all even when they're free...

He did this endoscopy on this man but it was quite difficult to get it into his stomach becoz the patient won't swallow properly!! As you know, we hav 2 openings from our mouth--esophagos and trakea--and the doc needed the patient to swallow for the endoscope to go into the right opening... And I think he did that like abt at least 10 times!!!

Finally, it was in! And they saw an ulcer in da stomach thru da screen... The nurse then put dis silvery longish thingy and pulled a sample of the ulcer out for further examination... The nurse was so damn fast that we din really see the whole procedure!! Wow! Her aiming was pretty good too!! And the part wif the ulcer was kinda bleeding after they pinched the sample out...and when they took the endoscope out, it was bloody coz when it moved to the wrong places, it might puncture the internal parts a bit...eww.. Thankfully, da thing managed to go in after God knows how many times.. Pity da old man too. He was in a lot of pain, I think.

Btw, I juz gotta comment on the kind of music they play in the endoscopy room... Super mainstream, man...! Let me see... They played:- J-LO 'Get Right!', LP "Numb', K.Clarkson 'Since U Been Gone' and even Simple Plan 'Perfect'~!!!! I mean this hosp is cool, man! Juz damn cool!! Of coz they didn't put it on full blast la, juz a tiny hum but you can still hear the songs...

I think that's all for now... Can't really think off what to mention now... Aikz. Will insert anything interesting if I rmb lo... Ok? Bye!

Take Two at Voluntering!

Today is my 2nd day as a volunteer at the Penang Adventist Hosp (PAH). Let's juz say it was one hell of a trip! Damn interesting and quite educational too!! (Pls excuse my language..hehe.)

Guess which department I was sent to dis time? The Emergency Room a.k.a. ER!!! Cool, isn't it? My frenz were given diff departments---> Yokekei got Pharmacy (morning) & Surgical 2 (afternoon), Lydia got Physiotherapy, Chiahui got Surgical 2 and Chiapei got to follow 1 of da doctors around (Lucky her, coz her mum knew the doc personally..) My dad knew one of da cardiologists but he said I wouldn't be able to help or learn much following him around . And he was right.

Today, I learnt quite a lot of stuff. Mostly the things I had to do was routine--wheeling patients to the X-ray room (whoa, some were quite heavy!), sent samples to their respective places and help around the nurses.

At first, I took a look around da ER and the equipment there was quite fancy and high-tech! Wow! I also took note of how they kept their medicines. Some were juz kept on normal cabinets, while some were kept in da refrigerators and a few were kept in locked drawers coz those are controlled drugs (eg. Morphine, heroin..)

At the ER, I oso got to interact with patients. There was a lady who was an uncontrolled diabetic and oso blind, there were all these wounds on her limbs.. Didya know dat any wounds on a diabetic are very diff to heal? I think it's due to the high blood sugar conc. or sumthing.

But da most interesting case was dis elderly man with high fever. (Ppl with high fever tend to become confused and boy, was he confused!) When the nurse wanted to take his body temp. with dis ear equipment thingy, he was struggling to get free, insisting it was painful when the nurse had assured us that it was a painless procedure. So, I have to help to hold him still. Then, the nurse had to take his blood sample. Fearing that he'd fight us, she had to call in an attendant to help us. So wif 2 ppl (me and the attendant) holding him, she tried her best to take his blood wif his flailing around, struggling to break free--which he can't coz she had tied him to the bed with a piece of cloth that was attached to his bed sheet.

However, at the end, she accidentally knocked over an empty test tube, which cause her having to ask for a new one. During dat time, the poor old man's blood was still dripping away, non-stop!!! Onto da bed trail, onto the floor!! In splotches of bright red blood! (And I didn't faint! Thk God! That'd have been wayyy embarassing!! I guess I gave myself less credit for how "tough" I am..lol..) I guess I saw RED, not figurately, but more like literally.. lol. Finally, the blood-taking procedure was over and she left a *braunula sticking in his arm.

Then she gave him an antibiotic injection thru the braunula, instructing me dat the injection must be given slowly, to avoid bulging building up in his veins. Ooo, interesting, rite? Pretty educational lo.. (PS: I oso got to darn up surgical gloves--powdered, to avoid them sticking to hands--Isn't it SO COOL? It felt so great! It was stained with blood and dirt after dis case. She instructed to throw all bloody stuff into the red bin and general waste into blue bin.. *Colour coding*)

An earlier encounter in da morning was a man whom was very possibly infected with the HIV virus. Me and my fren weren't allowed in coz they dun wan to expose us unnecessarily to it. If he had open wounds (which he definitely had, I think) and we also had open wounds, then we might get infected too… # Scary #

I guess dat's all for now... This is getting pretty long liao... If I think of sumthing new, I will share it in a new post lo... Ciao!

* Braunula is a device stuck into a patient's vein and kept there so if there are any further injections needed, it can be done thru the braunula without poking more holes into the patient...

Life's Little Ironies! Aikz...

I alwiz think that sometimes Life is just a tad too ironic for me... You don't what I mean? Well, let's start with examples so you will understand (like in a classroom).

Kids in Malaysia just don't get it... The well-off pampered ones, I mean. I heard from my sister the antics of some of her classmates and I tell you if I meet those children, they'll will be getting 5 dollars from moi a.k.a. a tight slap that they richly deserved. One wanted her grandparents to open the car door for her (I'll understand if it's her driver, but come one, this are your grandparents!!! For heaven's sake!!)

And another one scolded the headmistress--when I say scold, I really mean spit-in-your-face kinda of scold, ok?) And when she was reprimanded (rightly in this case) by the headmistress, she asked her grandparents to come and argue with the headmistress... She even have bodyguards ready-at-hand if anything goes awry... Crazy shit! I know that headmistress isn't the kindest person in the world, but still you could show some respect for an elder and your headmistress, girl!! The little brat! I wonder what the world will come too if families are churning out such kind of brats... They're not the only ones... The stories told to me by by my younger sister are so numerous--that I won't bother you with all if them--don't really wanna rmb too... Some are juz plain riduculous!!

Imagine one day if they become bankrupt.. (Cheerz!) What will become of them? I really dunno wanna know... Most probably they will be thrown onto the streets and stoned for being garbage to society!! Good Riddance and Bad Rubbish!

Right, I think I have veered a little off my original topic... If you compare them with some little poor kids from wherever--those kids who really really want to go to sch but was denied the priviledge--and with these pathetic spoiled brats who dunno wanna go to sch and their parents let them! That's why I said life is ironic... Too bad. I really dunno what's the world coming too sometimes... Shit! Damnit! Maybe that's why they're doing all those Armagoddon shows, to show us---> that if ppl like them dpn't mend their ways, this is what is waiting for planet Earth. Sigh.

I juz hope that parents nowadays will know the right way to nurture their children--even if you're filthy rich doens't mean you should protect your child until you are destroying their conscience... I'll juz say *Peace to all*

Aikz... Ironic isn't it, life?

Ooo..Volunteer Work Ain't Easy..

Well, today was quite an experience... Right, I'm getting ahead of myself. :P

Today was the 1st day I went to volunteer my (apparently valuable, according to Becky, one of the long-time volunteers there) services at the Penang Adventist Hosp a.k.a. PAH. I was given the surgical ward even though that wasn't exactly my choice but altogether, it was the better one in regard to what my frenz were given.. One of my frenz got bakery when her 1st choice was pharmacy... Really! Like learning how to chop bread or package bread will expose her to what a pharmacist's job is really like...lol.

I think mine was ok (but I think you can safely say it was Boring.) That's why I felt sleepy during the afternoon coz not that busy during dat time... Ever heard of ppl volunteering until they almost fall asleep? HA!

Still, I got really aching legs to show for my work...!! What do you think? I was made to run up and down god knows how many times to search for medication, sent files/X-Rays and even people's urine and blood samples... Hmmm.. How's that for a job, huh? Non-paid one too..

But I ain't complaining coz I think it was ok---> Hey, I mean, I did learnt some stuff! Err.. Like how do the nurses work, their system (juz the gist of it, coz when you sit at da counter for hours end, you kinda learn something abt their system..lol.)

And I was like the only one given the whole real tour of all the wards (the others were juz given a simplfied tour by Becky) coz da nurses in my assigned ward were rather nice... Linda, the Head of Surgical Ward to ask one of the younger nurses to take me around. Her name was Evelynn and she was also from my sch---my senior---and she said that I looked familiar. I was even taken to the ICU (Intensive Care Unit for those not in the know) where I saw these really fancy equipment...

Wow! And I was also taken to the Obestrics where the mothers-to-be are taken to become mothers (haha...you get what I mean!) And didya know that babies are placed in a room filled with UV light that is supposed to help them fend off a disease (sorry, can't rmb the name of yjr disease)?? Actually, you can avoid the disease by exposing the little babies to sunlight but you can't hang those little fragile ones out to dry on clothes line, rite? lol. The poor little ones will get so dehydrated!! haha...

Well, all things said, I think that that my voluntering there wasn't a complete waste of time (although there are definitely better ways of killing time) as it was quite educational--> I kinda know how a hospital functions now!

And hey! It IS for a good cause, you know! Guess what? I'm thinking of doing more voluntering there, maybe on weekends I guess--I assure you that I will be totally exhausted coz I have to manage my studies too! But what can I say? I'm an angel without wings.. Juz kidding.. Haha.

Story of A Lazy Bum..Me!

OK, OK, I admit it!! I'm kinda lazy sometimes. That's why I've been posting stupid stuff here -- e.g: lyrics of songs, poems (hey, I wrote those!), jokes and dunno what else. Hehe. Heck, I sometimes juz can't find the energy to write about anything that is happening in my life (not much happening currently. It's semester break...) or any insightful insights (what sort of phrase is that?!) that I sometimes get (rather rare though..)

Well, so what should I write abput? I really dunno. Brain drain--writer's block...blablabla.

Maybe about friendships? I admit I'm someone who takes friendships very seriously.. I personally think that if I'm without friends for one day, I will die---I don't mean that I must alwiz be surrounded by frenz--what I mean is that if I wake up someday without any real frenz, I will really die of friendlessness... (Is there such a disease? Hope not..)

So I think that one should alwiz choose one's frenz carefully... That's why I alwiz have to assess a new person to see whether that someone harbours any evil intentions towards me or whoever--Well, once bitten, twice shy and all that, get it?? But I dun wanna go into that.. Best for it to be forgotten and all... Bury the past and the hatchet, Yeah!!

Today's kinda boring day... Didn't do much except for surfing the net, watching movies, get scolded by mum about doing too much of those things and blah blah blah... Hey, cut me some slack! I juz finished my mid-years, ok?? I missed out on those fun things for some time, and I'm juz trying to fill it up... Non-stop fun for a week! Here I go!

School's out! Let the monkeys out! Well, I'm don't really wanna be refered to a monkey even though I do believe that humans a.k.a. homo sapiens, evolved from them... LOL!

Well, let's see... I, err...went to Popular last week... Man, it was scary! They're having this discount book sales and there were so many ppl there buying books like that is no tomorrow. Actually, I think I shld be glad that Malaysians are reading more... I actually don't believe it that someone can read only like TWO pages a YEAR??!! *Incredulous tone*

Now, that's what I call scary!! I mean I'm an avid reader--plead guilty--but I can read like a tiny simple book in two hours straight... No kidding... Avid readers like me will certainly agree...

Right?? Echo: RIGHT!

Ok, I think this post is a lousy one coz my thoughts are running around without a fixed direction... Well, hey, I'm juz taking the brain guy's advice--he gave us a talk abt how to use your brain--our minds are like this spider web thingy that do a 360 degrees spin whenever we're thinking... Whatever... It was kinda boring, that talk actually.

Well, not much web spinning/thinking to do liao... Gotta go! Ciao~

The "Curse" Of The Music Room ~ Scary..

It's official!! I'm addicted to drumming!! I just started learning it from a fren this monday and I've been going to da music room everyday during every of my free periods...which considering, there are many free periods dis week (due to no eng class)... I'm in a dilemma here coz the exams are coming up and I haven't started studying--Shit!--and I shouldn't be "wasting" my time jamming it up in the music room... OMG!

But drumming is so fun!! I totally LOVE it! It's my fav music instrument even though I can play the piano--rather lousy at it--Haha--You can feel the rhythm in your veins when you start drumming...which is juz plain wonderful! This has caused me to be late for my bio class today, so I had to go to a later one--which is bad coz my frenz weren't in it and i wasn't really clear about what the teacher was teaching--RNA or DNA?? Whatever...

I'm not very good at drumming at first...but managed to catch up after constant practice...which means no time spent studying-- Damn. I really dunno what to do... I really don't think I should neglect my studies like this but... I HAVE been feelling a lot more cheery and happy this whole week due to dis drumming addiction I seem to have here... I think it really lightens up my mood--which wasn't all dat good last few weeks... *Happy smile* :P

Anyway, it is also kinda like my crossover from a boring nerd (that's wat my fren say we are but I absolutely refused to believe it!! It's not true!!) to a 'cool' drummer... I'm also sad to say that I've been neglecting my frenz this whole week--except Lydia who has also gotten the "Curse" of the music room--her instrument of choice is diff every week--currently the electrical guitar, which i think is rather hard.. Will get stiff fingers after playing...

What I don't understand is that my fren doesn't seem to enjoy drumming and has absolutely refused to even try it! Well, to each of her own, I guess... But Drumming IS fun! Total Fun!

And this really cool girl who is a gifted musician--dunno her name--says that me and my frenz have been 'cursed' with da "Curse" of the music room when we were enjoying ourselves too much to leave for class--making us to late for it--Therefore, having to go for the later one. Arggh! I think what she said have some truth in it but it's not a curse la.

It's kinda like I'm rediscovering another part of my life again... I used to shun the piano but now I'm playing it everyday at home-- Miracles of Miracles! I think that music will alwiz remain a big part of my life--It alwiz has been but only in songs from other ppl--but now I'm making my own music--which is a lot more fun!

No Music~~No Life! Yay!! This is the only way to go!!

Poem ---> Ice Queen?

People say I'm proud
cold and haughty.
They even call me their resident Ice Queen!
But they don't really know me.
The real me ain't what it seems
on the hard shiny surface.

I live for the warm sun
in bright colourful summer.
I love laughing, smiling
and telling jokes off my head.
But I can't do that
every single moment of the day.

They would no sonner
send me to the local asylum
and put me into a straitjacket.
Even so, I feel cooped up.
Unfree.
Unable to unleash my true self.
Please don't punish me
for not wearing my heart on my sleeve.

People once mocked me by saying,
If looks could kill,
I would be serving time in jail.
Yeah, as a first degree murderess.
Now, that's what I call harsh.

Give me the benefit of doubt.
Give me a chance to free myself.
Maybe it's time
to stop hiding
and really start living.
We only got one life
to make it worth our while.

So, start smiling.
Be positive and stop worrying.
Dark winter would be chased away
by mighty warm summer.
Even for an Ice Queen,
Hope springs eternal.

"Deep in thought"
That's me. The Ice Queen.
Yeah, right! Gimme a break...

Am I...

...growing more and more like my horoscope everyday??

Now, when all things come to a head, I feel really stressed out... I juz gotta admit the truth (Hello? It ain't setting me free...) to myself--the fact that I'm growing more and more like my horoscope everyday. Sigh. *Huge sigh*

You might be wondering why I'm sounding like an idiot coz becoming more and more like your horoscope isn't so bad a thing until you realize what my horoscope is--Yup, I'm becoming more and more like your typical virgo... Ha! I'm turning into a perfectionist! Oh my God! Not juz a temporary one, but a full-fledged monster that will roam the sch halls after dark...

Ooo.. That is so scary, even for me!! I make myself do every assignment until I'm totally satisfied with it... Meaning I'll have to reprint it a thousand times!! (wasting a lot of paper here...) I think I'll have to restrain myself more but this a hard thing to do... coz this are my natural impulses, rite?? It's in me... I'm the 'monster' (think Dr.Jekyl and dear Mr.Hyde.. Haha.)

Still, thinking it in a long term view, maybe it's for the best... this way, it makes me hand in my best work right on time. (In my opinion, the best la. If the teacher thinks so too, good! Cheers!) However, I think it's taking a heavy toll on me... I'm stressing myself for nothing... STRESSED!! My mental resources are depleting and not before long, I'll be juz drooling in the dark corner over there... No chance of recovery too. Poor me.

I just guess I'll have to go with da flow. Rule of Taoism: Adapt to the surroundings...and find the Way!! Whatever is that bullshit. Haha.

Ok, I'll just do whatever I think best la...like alwiz.. I'm my own master (I think 'mistress' has negative connotations, no?)

Culture Shock?

Nah, it's more like Unsavoury Character Shock! [If there's ever such a name though.]

Wow.. I'm in a slow mind-numbing type of shock. Nah...! It wasn't culture shock, which really blows you away... It was character shock!!-- It's a new kind of shock I've observed..

Let me explain.

Since coming to college--pls take note that I'm from a rather strict high school--although I won't reveal to you which--I have been a tad apprehensive about the attitude and character of some of the people who also go to my college.

I thought I have seen it all... but apparently I was wrong. At my young age--okla, not very old--I still have much to learn about the ways of the world. I guess I'm still learning.. Well, life is a learning process, rite? I guess this learning to know what type people to trust is going to come in handy when I'm let out into the wide wide world.. Tis a scary thought?

I get kinda of disillusioned with the world when I think of the enormous evils that have ravaged humanity for such a long time. I think: Is it possible that are there good people left or am I the only one? It isn't so far-fetched either.. I'm not praising myself or anything but I think that some ppl really need to sit down and think about their principles in life. They prefer to live the hedonistic lifestyle...but for me, it's a no no. I don't want to waste my life by throwing it down the drain. :(

Let's juz say I don't really think much of their attitudes.. They really need an attitude-adjustment program (Is there such a thing? Maybe I should be a pioneer and start it. lol.) or something...and fast!! Their parents also need a crash course in moulding their children's character.. Hmmm!

Anyway, I guess I will juz have to be more careful about what I do or say in case I happen to be so unfortunate to evoke their wrath!! Haha... Moderation is the key!! Ciao for now!

Zero displacement after Death?

Come on! Sometimes, I don't really know what we're livin for...to put life in the context of Physics, when we die, displacement is like zero anyway.. Haha. When you think of it like that, life gets a little too depressing...but not so much so that I'm going to jump off the rooftop..yet.

Ok, ok. I admit that I won't commit sucide. It's kinda stupid actually... I really should look at the bright side of life...even we're going to get zero displacement after we die, we can enjoy ourselves to the way there.. Right? Hakuna matata--No worries!!

We should look at a glass like it's half full..and blah, blah.... That's rather theoretical, don't you think? If everyone was able to do that, ha! There will be world peace (like what those Miss Worlds wanted so much... *Snicker*) Anyway, I still think that we should really try our best to look at some dastardly deed in a positive light (if that is possible..) Well, the saying goes, every cloud has a sliver lining, right?

When you feel really down and out, why don't you think off those people that are definitely worst off than you. Erm...perhaps the people who lost everything (family members, frenz, houses, clothes...you name it, they lost it!) when the tsunami ravaged their lives? I'm sure they will feel compasionate about those poor people's tragic fate and stop exaggerating and dramitisizing their supposedly "ruined life".

Come on, guys! Lend a hand to someone in need , stop being gloomy and maybe you will see the happiness you've alwiz wanted shining in front of you.

Happiness comes to those who work for it....! So, get going now! :D

Q: Zero displacement after Death?

A: Who cares? I'll live my life the way I like it!
