How I Waste Time With Facebook

Oops another filler post of sorts. My blog posts has been less than scintillating lately, huh? What to do, no emo-ing is a good thing, but emo-ing is the thing that makes me produce thoughtful meaningful posts sometimes.

Anyway, I did play around with photoshop for some of the pics below though. It's fun! Making things pretty!

Ooh ya, I'm supposed to be introducing how I waste my time with Facebook, right? (refer to title of post pls)

Yes, Facebook is really fun once you started on it. Did I mention that it is addictive too? lol. Okay I'm gonna intro some of the applications that got me hooked.

If you love puzzles, this application called PuzzleBee is just the thing for you!

before and after

They have puzzles in amazingly large numbers. All made by the people who are participants of the application themselves. This way, there would be more varied type of puzzles! And all puzzles are categorized by way of tags, so you can always search for your favourite type of puzzle!

I have always been a fan of puzzles but dislike spending money on something you can only use one time. And I lurve things that are different everytime!

So this application came just at the right time! Everyday I can play different puzzles and difficulty is ranged from easy, medium to difficult so that means I can use my breaks in btw cramming facts for this! Freshens the mind, doesn't it? hehe...

Next up is the (fluff)friends application. It's kinda like a virtual online tamagochi where you can adopt a pet but minus it bobbing about tho haha.

Anway, besides adopting the main pet, you can buy minis too with munny. Minis are minature versions of the pets available and they will keep your pet company. So cute aren't they? hehe..

a white christmas for my leppit teehee

And now besides the minis, you can buy different sort of habitats and decorations for your pet. The range they are coming up with is quite nice! Check it out! lol.

Besides acting cute and letting you feed them, you can let them challenge your frenz's pets in a race. And to earn munny, you bet on which pet will win. Kinda like a horse race, except there are no horses so far haha.

Well, so far that's about what they can do. I know, sounds kinda boring after a while, but hey gotta find a way to waste that time, right? =P

Next application is Jetman. Very simple game. Just click and hold to fly, or release to freefall. And yes, avoid any sort of blockades.

ah yes I photoshopped in that "wee!" lol

Sounds too simple for you smart asses out there? hehe Have a try. The highest score goes to those who can go on longest without knocking anything! Not an easy feat, mind you! Moi is pretty bad at this... blek.

Last but not least is virtual Sudoku!

guaranteed to bust your brains out

If you can't enough of the free sudoku puzzles you get in the newspapers daily, this application is for you!

There are 3 types of sudoku available: the normal numerals, chinese numbers and the last one is so cute, with different types of sushi! haha. The last 2 is definitely harder especially if one is used to the first type. keke.

Btw if any of my frenz want any of the above applications, just lemme know and I'll send you an invite! *winks*

Okla, so thus ends my filler post. (well I did spend quite some time on the photoshopping!) Hmm I shld be working on my new-year-resolutions-post but I'm lazy and shall procastinate on that more serious post! huhu.

PS: Yeap, hols coming to an end! =/ Shall be going back kl tmr and getting my scary renal results on monday. =(((

PPS: Oops, almost forgot. Wish all those who are sitting EOS5 the best of luck!! Just do your best and I'm sure you guys will be great. =)

Definitely D'lish!

I was sorely tempted to try out this new deli in midvalley called D'lish when pinkpau and michelleg reviewed it on their blogs sometime ago.

And I had the very chance to do so a few weeks ago (sorry this post a bit backdated blek)

I was kinda full after dinner that day - besides the 50% offer starts after 9pm so I cudn't very well be delaying my dinner till after 9 right? - so I decided to tapau-ed some of the awesome cupcakes they had on sale!

[here are some pics. they are massively photoshopped to the best of my ability coz the quality of the photos were horrible! must be the poor lighting aikz]

takeaway~

wow so I am a gourmet then! teehee

yalah everyday know how to eat only lah :P

And below are the cupcakes! For better pics and more variety, you shld refer to the links I provided earlier okie. Their photos are just so much nicer!

Anyhow, I'm still very satisfied with the photo below becoz I managed to present them nicely - despite the original lousy quality.

left: baked banana cheese cupcake with white chocolate curls

right: cheese and raspberry brownie cupcake with chocolate curls

Don't they sound absolutely delicious? Well to be honest, they tasted pretty good, but not as delicious as described though. Probably would have chosen other choices but then only a few left after 9pm. =/

Maybe I'll be luckier next time hehe. *eyes the rocky road and the one with peanut butter frosting ooo lala*

PS: Christmas is over. Well, it doesn't really mean anything special to me except that I get holidays! I don't mind that though! :P Last time when I was a little child, I used to wake up in anticipation of presents - yeah mr. santa claus aka dad left them in our pillow cases. (guess we must be pretty greedy to use that instead of stockings, huh? lol.)

It's The Thought That Counts

Gifts. Whether it's giving or receiving, don't we just adore them?

So here's a post abt the gifts that I've recently come by (yes that means either receiving or giving).

The gift below was a present for Suewen's 21st birthday and it was contributed by our whole gang of ppl that went to her party.

a box of happiness

Instead of a lot of people sharing for one expensive gift that one might not use that often, brilliant moi came up with an idea to give Suewen a different sort of gift that any girl would like!

And so the idea of a gift box filled to brim with goodies (chocs, accessories, mini soft toys etc) was borned. Behold:

my idea of a dream gift

Isn't the soft toy octopus the cutest? Oh that's a scrunchie on top of his tiny head hehe. The octopus has an opening at his head which means that its most basic function besides looking cute is a handphone holder.

I guess you can't really see much from the pic so I'm just gonna reiterate the list here. Lemme see: the octopus, a cute furry bear holding the #21, packets of chocs, a really pretty necklace and hairpin, purse, face oil paper blotter, guitar peak, handphone pouch, keychain, scrunchie etc. Pardon me, my memory fails me.

Some of the things included weren't exactly the norm as gifts, but we decided to include them coz they were necessities for her. So at least she will use them sooner or later... Imho that is def better than letting something really pretty but non-functional sit on a shelf to gather dust, right? hehe.

So that was the gift that we spent a lot of time preparing for, and the process was fun! Enjoyed it although there were moments of stress o.O you would never guess~ aikz.

Okla, enough rambling abt that. Next on would be abt some of the xmas gifts that I'd received this year! yayz!

Feast your eyes:

no need caption wan lah okay

The Choki Choki is from Liyann! It seems so long since I'd last eaten choki choki leh.. Can you guys rmb this candy from when we were young? [okay I'm refering to those who are leaving their teens] I likey~ thanks! =)

Oh, and both of the nail polish are from Ian Zing, courtesy of the xmas gift-exchange program we had this year. The colours sure are funky alright! I like them very much and yes I've already painted both my finger and toe nails with it. thanks a lot! ^v^ *wriggles fingers and toes lol*

Next on is:

xmas colours of red & green! do notice my photoshopping matches the colours scheme too!

The green box filled with Eclairs is from Puifun! The boxes that you sendiri made are nice! Although I must say, purple and green are a bit clashing lah haha. Anyway, thanks!

The gift wrapped in red with such a cute lil angel in front could be from no other but Valene! Inside is a cute lollipop (sry, no pic of it) and a decoration thingy that I haven't yet figured out what's the function, will ask her soon lol.

Okay, last but not least, an xmas card:

yes you read that right. it's hand-drawn alright!

Oh I took the liberty of photoshopping the card so ignore the unnatural snowflakes okie haha. And the reason I decided that I must put this card up is becoz there's a twist to it. Kee Ping who gave some of us these similar-looking cards, was very smart to put a little unique indivuality to each card.

I found it after a few mins. Let's see if you can. (unfortunately not all would possess the power to do so but you can ask me tho) It was fun searching for that lil twist! hehe.

Alright, time to wrap things up!

Before I go, I hereby wish my readers an early Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Wow, how time flies - hmm that means a post abt resolutions is in sight - I shall procastinate abt that teehee... (as I'd procastinated on this year's post, YES till now I haven't list down, so yup, a tad too late for that ade lah lol)

Right, I'm off to enjoy myself at my aunt's xmas party tmr! Tataz~

Happy Winter Solstice

Yes, filler post ahead. Wonder why when I'm ready to blog properly, the internet lags so horribly that I throw my hands up into the air, give up and leave it to another day.

So here I am.

Anyway, I'm back in Penang since Thursday and will be here for around 1 week plus. Frenz, ring me up!

I went to my maternal grandma's hse today to visit since most of the family were here. And because today was Winter Solstice, we had Tang Yuan for supper! (click on the links if you dunno what they mean)

do I need to caption this?

Well, truth to be told, I don't really fancy the small little balls made of glutinous rice flour. They are tasteless and semi-springy. Not my type of food. But the soup that comes with it is sweet and I likey.

And hey, even though I'm not really into it, no harm in eating it as it's tradition, right? hehe.

so yeah. filler post done. I hope the internet is obedient the next time. Tata~

The Obligatory Post-Renal Post

Yup, this post is like delayed for one week but I've explained how "busy" I was the past week in my previous post so I'm sure you guys wouldn't mind, right? hehe.

Anyway, here's a mini bite abt the renal exam. I promise I will shove it to one side (compartmentalize it as men apparently do) and won't talk abt it again until I get the results...

If I'd to describe the exam, I would say that we kena PAWNED! =/ yes the exam was freaking hard and the 60 mins given to us just weren't enough.. so much so that the examiner took pity on us and gave us an extra of 5 mins.

There was one saq question which was really tricky. The patient was having some major emotional drama but it didn't mention that she was hyperventilating. Our lecturer wanted us to figure it that out ourselves. Luckily I guessed correctly [actually I was at my wits' end and just wrote whatever that came to mind blek] and so the answer really turned out to be respiratory alkalosis. This basically was a nothing-or-all sort of question. aihs.

Anyway, although I got that right, I got a hell lot (yes that means A LOT) of small questions wrong. I think in my hurry to get the paper done in that little amount of time, I accidentally miss reading some parts or just got the links btw features and diseases jumbled up in my little brain.

Can you believe that I wrote crescents were a feature for Focal Segmental Glomerular Sclerosis (FSGS)? Well probably becoz Rapidly Progressive Glomerulo Nephritis (RPGN) is the only other type of glomerulonephritis with 4 letters too. Stupid brain short-circuited. aikz. Or how abt I wrote that DCT was more prominent looking under the microscope compared to PCT? Crazy ain't it, the way my brain got messed up? bleh..

Alright, I think that's enough ranting abt the exam, although my mistakes are definitely more than that. Just hope that I get an okay result. *prays*

--------------------------------------------------------------

Time to talk abt celebrations! After the devastating-ego-destroying exam, we went to Greenbox as usual to sing karaoke! I cudn't enjoy as much as usual coz I was really super sleepy. Getting old I see, as last time I could party for more than 2 nights without proper sleep.. boo~

After that, we went to Midvalley to catch the movie, Enchanted.

where fairytales go into reality mode

I think the movie was really nice! Highly recommended. Guys might think this is some sickly-girly-sweet sort of movie, but no worries, most of my guy frenz who watched think it was not bad.

The props were really beautifully made. Her princess dress, lovely! And there are some musical like elements in it (as how cartoon characters often break into song) which makes the movie even better as the songs are really endearing to the ear! hehe I've even downloaded some of them. And the many funny moments definitely brought us many laughs. This movie is definitely a must watch. go!

And so thus ended that day.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

Last Saturday, I went berpaktoh-ing with the bf coz so long never go out ade haha. We went to Sunway Pyramid, which looks super nice now as they had just opened up the new wing and everything looks new and shiny! woots!

As I'd read in some blog tat J.Co had finally opened up in Sunway (I seemed to be getting all my info from blogs nowadays), we two donut ppl made a beeline for the shop and got ourselves 2 dozen donuts! Of coz we shared one dozen with tzen - we would definitely become obese if we ate 2 dozen at one go, haha.

For dinner, we went to Sakae Sushi which has just newly opened too. It was almost as nice as the last time I ate, which was almost 1 year ago at The Curve. Thank god that Sunway has sucha great range of restaurants that were hard to get to before. Yay! Next time we can slowly explore the nice eateries ade... [omg I'm always into eating!]

After that, we went to watch I Am Legend.

the last man and not alone part seems a bit contradictory, no?

If I had to describe it in a few words, let's say it's rather similar to Resident Evil but this movie focuses more on the emotional and psychological aspects of a man who's think he's alone. Very touchingly portrayed. I almost shed a tear (oops can't give spoiler) erm.. when something pitiyingly bad happened.

I'd recommend this movie if you guys like your science fiction and emo-ness mixed together. Will Smith did the movie really well. Can you believe that Arnold Schwarzenegger was originally casted to play this role? I don't think he would be able to portray it as well tho.

Hmm. I guess this post basically "summarizes" our outings after the renal exam till now. Sorry tat I hvta combine posts coz I can't drag this on forever.

I still have so many things to blog abt too so keep that anticipation boiling high! Toodles!

PS: See more new ads? Clickety click pls to find out more? Some of the ads are pretty creative. hehe.. I need more money too.. huhu.

Writing Or Singing With Your Soul

Oops it's been so long since I last posted. Pls accept my humble apologies. But then it's not all my fault either as I've been pretty occupied (read: busy) with lots of stuff recently that I was not prepared for. haha..

I just started my literature selective this monday and boy, it has been a really fun week! Compared to other groups I think, ours has been pretty light and enjoyable *pities those who got pharmaco - heard that it's a total bore*

The workshop with Charlie Dark on tuesday was really an eye-opener. He taught us how to carry ourselves confidently while talking to a patient. And to shut off our brains and use our hearts more sometimes. I had to admit, I lost my poem-artsy-writing-streak once I stepped into the all-facts-pls-put-a-stop-to-your-emotions-med school.

It was always about the next exam, the next lecture, the next textbook, the next fact that you try hard to squeeze into the brain which is screaming in pain from information overload. What a life. =/

But now's a time for it to recuperate. Maybe I'll let my right brain take command over the left brain for a while. I'm sure I'd pretty much overworked the poor cells in me left brain. *starts imaginining how a left brain failure patient would look like -_-*

Sometimes the literature classes feel more like sociology classes. It's really interesting to see my batchmates start discussing abt what the author is really trying to say or portray. [E.g. is the persona a homosexual or why did the a character changed his sex from a male to a female?] The reasons to justify each are countless and we could argue for days end and it wouldn't be enough haha..

Anyway, besides being kept busy with literature classes - which I gotta admit doesn't really take up that much of my time these days, I'm now currently busy with the Friday Night preparations. Friday Night is something like a talent night in my uni. I was asked to be a backup singer by my friend. When I heard the song, I cudn't imagine that I'd be able to sing that. lol. so yeah practices are taking a relatively big chunk of my supposedly shld be really free time during this first week of selectives. But it's definitely a new experience! =)

Okay I won't say more, you just gotta come see this thing for yourself! It's tomorrow night! Do come okay. And pretend you dunno me when you see me on stage haha.. For those not so privileged to see the performances live, I shall be very kind to post a video on my blog so you can imagine that you were there okie! ^v^

There's a lot more I wanna blog about - suewen's bday party, post-renal post etc but hey one good thing at a time, okay? Toodles and I'm waiting to see you at friday nite alright!

PS: See the nice Taylor's College ad above? Click to find out what is it.. and also to gimme some money to keep me going! haha...

Men Are Like...

I'm working on my obligatory post-renal post.. sorry, I'm kinda busy coz suddenly many things cropped up haha.

Anyway, I found this from so-p's blog and tot it was hilarious. So this post is just to keep you guys hanging to your seats biting your nails in anticipation okay lol. I'll be back with a proper post soon!

Be warned that this post might be a bit crude but hey so what? :P Think slightly dirty if you are so innocent and don't get it. hehehe..

Rmb to fasten your seatbelts - here we go!

This is for all those men who say - Why buy a cow when you can get milk for free, right?

Here's an update for you guys then: Nowadays, 80% of women are against marriage. WHY? Because women realize it's not worth buying an entire pig just to get a little sausage. :P

  1. Men are like Laxatives. They irritate the crap out of you.
  2. Men are like Bananas. The older they get, the less firm they are.
  3. Men are like Weather. Nothing can be done to change them.
  4. Men are like Blenders You need One, but you're not quite sure why.
  5. Men are like Chocolate Bar.. Sweet, smooth, & they usually head right for your hips.
  6. Men are like Commercials.. You can't believe a word they say.
  7. Men are like Department Stores … Their clothes are always 1/2 off!
  8. Men are like Government Bonds. They take soooooooo long to mature.
  9. Men are like Mascara. They usually run at the first sign of emotion.
  10. Men are like Popcorn. They satisfy you, but only for a little while.
  11. Men are like Snowstorms. You never know when they're coming, how many inches you will get or how long it will last.
  12. Men are like Lava Lamps. Fun to look at, but not very bright.
  13. Men are like Parking Spots. All the good ones are taken, the rest are handicapped.

LoL, Girl Power forever~ Woo!

Renal Is Damaging My Brain

Renal exam is in 3 days' time.

Right...

omg shyt!!! It's really hard this time around.

Physio is hard. Pharmaco is hard. Patho as usual is hard. Every-freaking-thing is hard.

Kill me please. *runs shrieking into the dark*

Here's some renal-related humour to chase away the stress.

Rolling "Kidney" Stones, huh? (get the joke??)

the person who drew this certainly knew his medicine. the yellow arrow shows the classical loin pain!
