Yesterday & today was real productive and mind you, I don't mean shopping. Guess what I did on both days? (though the title is kinda a giveaway) I went to work! Can you believe it? Me, the lazy bum! =) But what you can't guess is where I started working. Hehe.
Ok, enuf teasing. Right, I went to work part-time at my dad's clinic. One of the ladies needed to undergo a operation so I'm standing in for her for 3 days. My bro took the first day [he insisted on it] and I took the last 2 days.
Anyway, yesterday was the 1st day day. I had to start learning from scratch but since I'm so smart ^_^ I got hold of it after a while. Pretty interesting work, since I'm new & everything. My job was to man the counter with another lady. My work included finding patient's cards, writing down records, keying in information, calling patients in turn, dispensing medicine (cool~) and other trivial stuff. It sounds easy, I know, but it gets really hectic when all the patients arrive at the same time [which they tend to do so...dunno why]. Then we'll be in a fluster to do all of the above at the same time.
Well, of all the things above, I find the dispensing medicine part most interesting. Of coz, I only know a few of the regular ones after frequent dispensing, so I've to be assisted by the other lady. Eh, don't want to give the wrong medication, right? Or else charm ade. :O
But what I dislike is counting pills/capsules/tablets. Coz I keep forgetting after a few numbers. Of coz, tiny numbers are no problem, but there was one time I needed to count 100 tablets, till now I still am not sure whether I gave the patient the correct amount or not. O.o Hopefully correct lo.
Anyway, I also like the earning money part, of coz. I get paid RM 3:50 an hour, which I think is quite a good pay, right? Sometimes, there is nothing to do [when there are no patients ma] but i still get paid. Of coz, I think I'm mostly quite busy la. :) The rate is the same as any part-time worker so no discrimination there. Hehe.
So tat concludes what I've been doing yesterday & today.
After work yesterday, while I waited for my dad to get the car properly fitted up (rmb the puncture the previous night?), I went to the McD nearby to get myself an Oreo-flavoured McFlurry. So yummy~ *Absolutely heavenly* Then, I indulged myself while waiting for them to repair the car After I got home, with a quick shower, we're ready to go to a family friend's housewarming. Buffet style. Quite a nice spread too. Then we went to my grandma's house for a while. Chatted with my cousins and we decided to go to the PC fair later this afternoon. I think I'll look out for great bargains for a mp3 + thumbdrive, the bluetooth thingy ~Is it called doogle? or dongle? Hmm..~ and other stuff. =)
Btw, I'm glad I got such a chance (or you can call it priviledge..hehe) to help out and learn stuff which will be quite relevant to my future career. Besides, this is the first time I see so many sick (unhappy) ppl [not "see so many dead ppl la"..ala Sixth Sense] in one day! :]

Yay, my dad uses computers. No more larger-than-life sized stack of cards to search through.
Then again, last time I was helping out, there were no computers. Very frustrating, because I have to run through the alphabets over and over again in my head. Feeling like another bad day at kindergarten.
wow, i guess that makes me the only lazy bum around who has yet to get a job... yeah, i'm plain lazy... ;P but i've promised my mom to get a job by january.
haha.. i wish my dad would upgrade the system in his clinic. but he says nvm wo.
but i really cannot tahan the slow slow pc!! aiyo...but they all say ok ah...hmm...i guess that when u get a taste of smtg better, it's always diff 2 change back to smtg inferior. blek~
^_^ but my job is part time only, kryptos.
anyway, i told my dad that i'd stand in if any of the staff wants to take a leave or whatever.
part time is fine by me but full time? i'm still too lazy...keke
